Governor Scott said the are aiming towards making it the Harvard of the south. They've always been the top tier academics university in FL, so its a valid sales pitch. Not sure if it sells the kids as much as the parents.

It's probably closer to Vandy than it is to LSU.

This.

Excellent school. #2 in the SEC ahead of UGA by a good bit these days.

Oh wait, maybe TAMU. Forgot about them.

uh, a lot of people in this thread need to take off the PnG glasses. the point is, how valuable is your degree if you do not have a future in the nfl. In this regard, A&M is definitely now second, and LSU is definitely still in the bottom half. noone gives a frick how many general studies majors we graduate on the football team.

TAMU and UF are close enough to be interchangable.

UGA, Mizzou, Bama, Aubie are all in the next tier.

thank god for the Mississippi schools, we will never be last

C'mon people. We're all football factories. Florida is a damn good school for joe q. student. We talkin football. Y'all talkin academics, man. Academics. Y'all talkin academics. Brandon Spike, Percy Harvey, Janoris Jenkin ain't gonna be on Jeopardy anytime soon. If that helps him recruit, so be it. Lets be honest, 80% of SEC players prob couldn't qualify under normal standards. It's not like Florida is turning out Myron Rolle's at an exponential rate.
