I get we may miss on Sage and Thomas but I’m ok with that.

For one, Thomas is an outside receiver and we currently have a plethora of guys On the team that could fit that bill next year. Gilbert will probably flex out Wide more next year and Taylor will start filling in Gilbert’s role. Also, guys like Pamer, Boutte, Jenkins, Moore, Adams and 2021 guys Hilton, Earle, and Smith will be absolute weapons no matter how they stack.
What I am getting at is I think Bech as a take in place of Thomas isn’t a bad option at all. He’s 6-2 215 lbs and his tape is ungodly. He is a solid replacement for Thomas and honestly gives us more options as he can fill a second TE role with Taylor similar to what Gilbert is doing this year. I’m not worried about offensive play.

As far as Sage goes, it hurts because we are crazy thin at Safety next year with the departure of Joseph and Harris’s Lack of physicality and awful angles. That will leave us with Harris (Sr), Hampton (Jr), Toles (Soph), and incoming freshman Khari Gee and Langlois.

While this sucks, Hopefully we can land Smith (Fr) and Foreman (Fr) to play down beside Ojulari (soph), Roy (Soph), Guillory (soph), Taylor (soph) and Incoming freshman Jackson, Brown, Khot, Jones, And Hundley. Also have a possibility that Gaye returns (doubtful).
This would be an absolute freak DL to go with a LB group of maybe Clark (Sr doubtful as he will get passed up) Baskerville (Jr), Webb (soph), Sampah (soph), White (soph), Davis (Fr), Penn III (Fr), Carter (Fr).

With this front seven and Sting and Ricks back I could give two shits if Your grandmother was playing safety.

That's assuming Stingley doesn't pull the same shite Chase did and opt out..

Trust me.. It will come up if we have an absolute dog shite season on defense

Not having a season would’ve been the best thing to happen to us. Leigh and Sage Ryan both out. I’m sure Foreman and Smith are seeing all this mess too

If Chase is a top 10 pick in the draft next year I would not be shocked to see Stingly opt out.

Sage is the bigger miss by far. BTJ is a wonderful talent but let's be real about it, wrs are a dime a dozen in terms of production. Stars are stars and make it look easier but a stars pure production can be compensated for by one or more less talented guys.
We have less depth and fewer, if any, playmakers at S. Ryan could be that guy and get the chance to show it immediately. It's a big loss in every way, if it goes as expected.

It's pretty clear now that we will leave a spot or two open in this class for transfers. We may need 2 S transfers alone. It's time to start looking at the portal and other rosters for potential candidates to step in immediately next season.

Sage might not have ever wanted to come to LSU for all we know. It was just assumed. But man it still hurts because he’s the exact player and position we need

I'm not ok with either of them.

This isn't the NFL where you can only have so many quality WR's because of the salary cap. I want as many good WR's as I can get, and if Thomas were to come in and beat out someone older (Palmer and this seasons freshman WR's, for example) then all that much better.
