240 is prolly where he needs to stay/end up

250 tops. THAT'S IT

agree, but the question is:

Can a George Selvie-type of DE work in the SEC with the Tackle play the conference gets on offense?

I still think he is fast and athletic enough to start at OLB... afterall, LSU hurts for quality LBs more annually than DEs

not sure he'll ever be big enough to line up over a Tackle

without invoking the miracle workings of the great Tommy Moffit, how big could he reasonably get by his red-shirt soph year (3 years in the program)? If he is a legit 210 at West Monroe, that already has a better than average weight program, could he still put on about 10 lbs a year and get up to 240?

his bulk had nothing to do with his effectiveness

al jones not overruning every other play and literally whiffing on the QB made him more effective as a pass rusher

he did lose containment regularly and overran the QB/play and looked like an undisciplined maniac out there, BUT he is much bigger and stronger than Mingo

if you look at the kid's physique it is freaky... he was not meant to be 6'5 the way he runs and how athletic he is and his body type

he has hips like a kid that is 5'9 ...runs like a kid who is 6'0...and has a bird chest and noodle arms

it's sort of weird ...but so is his name

He's not in WM's weight program fully due to basketball.

There is a fair chance he will be used as OLB. LSU picked up Barrow bc they were impressed with his cover ability. Need quick LBs who can cover or blitz against spread. Mingo (dare I call him BM???) is very athletic with a tremendous wingspan that can wreak havoc in passing lanes. I think they are looking for him to drop into coverage a fair amount and also be used as an outside rusher kind of like goulston last year.
