They both are out of states(i think) recruits that were strong leans to FSU. ME is a commitment, I don't think TJ was. But they both are 5 star ranked players. Both play DL. Both could potentially play early. We became players for both of them late in the game. Brick was all over both.

Being he has family in TX & MS wondering if that might play into his choice of school, so both parts of the family could come and watch him play.

He tried to come in on an unofficial in November but got caught up with ACT testing so for awhile I guess .

but in all seriousness it just seems like Mario is playing the game a bit and I do feel like his dad has had a bit of influence on him throughout the process and that his ties to FSU will win out in the end

Thanks GraviTiger for clearing that up. It's only similar to Jernigan in that FSU is involved and he's a DT. The differences are huge.
Jernigan was at one time close to a silent commit(he told the coaches to hold his spot and had intentions of signing with LSU the night before NSD) to LSU. Edwards has never even visited
We were on Jernigan the entire process. We got on Edwards in the summer
Jernigan visited twice. Edwards will visit once if he makes it this weekend.
Jernigan was a UF lean most of the process. FSU was on him but running third most of the time. They came into the forefront when Meyer starting his fall from grace.Jernigan's dad really wanted Tim at UF. Edwards is a FSU legacy and commited in the early spring(migh have technically been before Spring even started). He was also a heavy FSU lean for a year prior to commiting. When he started wavering Oklahoma was the choice then Texas got his interest along with LSU. We're just now getting a visit after 4-5 months of heavy recruiting.

Kinda OT but did anyone see what Tracy Howard said in a recent interview? The guy was saying two weeks ago he'd commit to LSU if we blow him away. Now he is saying since Gonzo left nobody is recruiting him. What kind of cluster frick is that? We still have 5 spots open ffs...the dude is one of the best recruits in the country, ratings be damned...

Not like jernigan at all. Tim is from florida. Mario is from texas and dad played at fsu. Think thats a big diff bevause br is actually closer to the edwards friends and family while tallahassee closer for the jernigans.

I've honestly been saying that too. Both Howard and Edwards are playing the game. But we shall see.

I think so. I had us at about a 35 or 45 percent chance with all 3 schools in consideration - now, I think's it is closer to 50/50 than the Noles want to believe. They may still get him, but I think we're closing fast.

Sorry guys left for a while. I meant that from a fan perspective. I don't remember much love or hype about TJ coming to LSU until late in the process and a lot of people got their hopes up. Then there were a lot of "oh, he visited, I think we got this" sentiment floating around. Then he committed elsewhere. I guess FSU was what really brought TJ to my mind. Sorry if it was a bad example.
