Jimbo Fisher is still unproven as a head coach. He had four top ten recruiting classes on campus this season and couldn't win the ACC.
So, play in the ACC for an unproven head coach or play in the SEC for the SEC champion? The decision should be easy.

Archie Manning played at Ole Miss, but Peyton didn't...just sayin'.

Maybe the dad and les bonded when they were with the cowboys. Think it was only one year, I know reaching lol

peyton didnt go to ole miss bc they were on probation

Edwards and his family live in Texas, so he actually is closer to LSU than FSU
Posted on 1/22/12 at 10:02 am to TylerGD
distance isnt a factor for him... hence his top two schools lsu and fsu

He lives is Texas but calls Mississippi home.
Either way it was nice to have him on campus but this is going to be a hard pull.
Maybe brick and les worked their magic and this may be the surprise but he has been FSU for awhile.
Fingers crossed.

Yep, that's why Peyton went to Ole Miss...
Whether serious or sarcastic, this one is 50/50.

reading espn insider -- mario has already told coaches and players at fsu that he will be there next year... granted i am sure he enjoyed his visit and will enjoy the people constantly telling him how good he is for the next two weeks coming up.. but i don't think he makes a change.
I am okay with that... we re fine at d end and i;m excited about this williams guy next year!

hence his commitment to FSU
this doesn't change the fact that he is not obligated until he signs the LOI. LSU has a shot and that's more than any other school can say at this point. Until I hear that MEJ has officially ruled out LSU, I am not paying attention to anyone else's guess or heresay.

his change would be huge... hence the saving grace
lsu has the best shot to change him
i just don't see it happening so late in the game
its not just the player you have to sway, its the family too
I wont be THAT surprised if he changes, I will be less though if he stays by his word.

like gunner ruled out notre dame?

if we really need the commitment of a 18 year old kid to "bring "love back" to the coaches, players and program" then we really are pathetic

why would this be funny? What point are you trying to make?
Gunner commited to LSU and enrolled at ND, MEJ is committed to FSU. I will continue to think we have a chance until he says that he is definitely not coming, not when someone else says it. MEJ hasn't flipped his commitment yet, Keil had already shown his commitments shouldn't be held as final.

dreaux's insight is funny bc some of us base our trust and faith in LSU off commitments from 18 year old kids... like when kiel decommited it was miles fault or the programs bc of the upsetting loss in the bcsnc.... unfortunately most of the fans on here aren't sold on LSU... why should any 18 year old top player who's committed elsewhere?
Posted on 1/22/12 at 5:58 pm to Respublica88
he can go to FSU and Not win the ACC, or he can come to LSU and win the SEC and have a great chance at the NC
Which one sounds better to you?

Why do people say we cant get him this late in the game. Wish we would have been on him longer etc. etc.
The kid opened up his recruitment months ago and I would be willing to bet LSU has been on him from jump street.
Things were only quit in the beginning because he committed so early to FSU based on it being where his dad played back in the day.
Like someone eles mentioned today's FSU is not like his fathers FSU was.

people say its late bc Mario's dad said its late..
in espn insider he was quoted as saying "he doesnt have long lasting relationships with players or recruits at LSU like he does FSU" Family is really important to this kid.. he trusts their opinions
The real question everyone should be asking was MR and MRS edwards won over as well
To answer question -- i would pick lsu over any school for any position I could or would play...
but thats me
