Cardoso of SC (6'7),.... UCLA potentially in Cayman Islands has a 6'7 post
Cardoso has looked unstoppable in the Americup for Brazil. The USA will need to start 6-7 Betts (UCLA) in their matchup vs Brazil tomorrow at 3:40p cst.
Angel can obviously beat Cardoso in transition/fastbreaks, but 95% of the USA's scoring has come in halfcourt sets, and Angel could get shutdown. Betts needs to start at Center tomorow. So, Del Rosario definitely needs to be ready to rumble with Cardoso when the Cocks come to the PMAC.

LSU will not have an answer for her. She whipped us last year. Hopefully our firepower will overcome

Run her to death and get her in foul trouble.

With the firepower, depth, and versatility this team will have? We beat SC by fifteen in the PMAC this season. Not worried about Cardoso.

Twitter: Jaloni Cambridge names her Top 7
“Ok, there’s no specific order…so there’s Georgia, Louisville, Ohio St, Florida, South Carolina, Baylor and LSU… I’m just looking for a family-based environment, and I just want to come in & play fast and just play my role.”

With Tennessee not being mentioned, I dont see her going anywhere but South Carolina or LSU.

Perhaps, but don't sleep on Ohio State. I think they have a legitimate shot.................especially if she's looking for playing time.

With all the star power and firepower on this team this season don’t be surprised if Mikaylah Williams is the leading scorer and biggest star.

It’s gonna come down to stoping the big girl from SC.

Rosario will be needed badly. Unfortunately she had a small surgery recently and likely will be behind going into fall practices
Morrow is going to be with the team next week (9/12 players already back). HVL is doing 3 v3 later this month. Reese likely won’t be back with team until the first day of classes in late august (not sure why)

I agree. Mikaylah is immediately the team's best 3 pt shooter while possesing an unstoppable James Harden-esque step-back separator. She's made some timely/clutch game-winner 3's multiple times on her journey for gold.
Her pull-up mid-range is already as reliable as HVL's and that's money.
Her quick & athletic big guard frame makes her drives to the basket & scoring points near the basket on par with HVL, tho I'd say right now HVL has more combo-moves for separation (out of necessity, due to height). Mikaylah is already the team's most complete 3-level scorer.
She doesn't pass a lot, but when she does, they are accurate passes using vision & anticipation, that always make me go "NICE!".
In the HS/all-star/FIBA games I've seen, she could be a more aggresive rebounder & defender, as those plays haven't stood out, however, she is not a liability, as those lapses & lazy PF's haven't stood out.

Damn. That's the last thing I wanted to hear. After watching Cardoso & Betts excel in the Americup, both of which we are definitely scheduled to play, I wanted to see a conditioned & accelerated version of the big body banger, rebounder & shot-alterer we need her to be for those matchups.

They have 2 big girls now. Got to be able to hit shots to beat them.

The JUCO kid is mostly a bench player not near the caliber of Boston but Rosario will be needed at some point. Reese can't defend Cardoso at 6'7.
Kim will have to swallow her pride on occasion and jam up the paint instead of playing straight up like she did at SC last season where we didn't have the bodies inside.
Go look at Georgia, Iowa and some of the other teams who created a log jam inside and dared them to hit the perimeter shots. Sometimes you have to do it if you don't have the size inside. But hopefully Rosario is good to go by fall practice in late August, she is rehabbing right now. 2 full months of practice before the season is a decent amount of time to get ready, and SEC play isn't until January so she has even more time to get ready for that.

Yea, I don't see that. Williams is a GREAT player...............probably the best freshmen coming in since Seimone Augustus, but there's too much veteran scoring on this team to expect that. I still expect Reese to be the leading scorer. After that it could be Williams, Van Lith, or Johnson. I'm really not sure Morrow is going to score a lot of points on this team. Double digits, yes. But she may only be the third highest scorer at best. We shall see.................

she will probably be the scoring equivalent of Ladazhia William. Average 10-13 points a game but will have games where she will score in bunches. She at least has a perimeter mid range jump shot (which Reese does not have).
But scoring shouldn't be an issue with the addition of Morrow, HVL, Mikaylah, along with some of the returners.
The biggest question IMO is how the new players adapt and grow on defense and how the ball handling PG responsibilities manifest. HVL is excellent and will improve under Kim but turnovers and individual defense were her biggest struggles in her 3 years at Louisville. Morrow is highly versatile and is a crafty scorer with great knack for rebounding who has shown she can compete against good teams the last couple years but it will be interesting to see how she adjusts to bigger size in the SEC early on.
