LSU visited Sarah Strong today!

Both will be in BR in a few days, could be a big weekend for LSU. Lot of momentum right now on the recruiting trail.

LSU should expect O'Neal, Cambridge and Edwards to visit later in the fall. Addison Deal (25 recruit) will be visiting soon as well

I was hoping the SC game would be on a Sunday. It will still be packed but usually weekday games are at 6 or 8 which isn't the most fan friendly.

Oh yea fans will be lined up regardless. I’m intrigued by that game in Knoxville I’m still mad about that loss in Greenville to the Lady Vols. We owe them an a** kicking.

Ugh, half of those games are on a Thursday night, and I normally work T-W-Th nights. This includes currently the two biggest games on-paper, VT & SC. so it looks like I'm gonna have to use some PTO/vacation days to attend or watch live.

The start of SECT (Mar. 6, 7) and the first round of the NCAAT (Mar. 20, 21) are also mid-week Wed & Thurs games. Dammit.

Yeah but LSU likely won’t be playing on either of those dates. The top 4 seeds in the SEC Tournament have byes until Friday and the W/Th NCAA games are just the First Four.

Last year, HVL’s 3-pt percentage dropped from the previous year. I think she’ll regain her consistent touch outside, if only for the increase in quality wide-open looks she’ll get simply from everyone around her drawing coverage. She’s been pretty reliable with wide open looks in 3x3 this summer. And obviously now in gym practice, too.

Getting a deal with Mamba for WBB can only help recruiting. Nice!

Non recruiting question here. Do you see Mulkey coaching well into her 70’s? I thought we’d get maybe 6 or 7 years out of her. I saw she had a heart procedure this offseason. But she’s mentioned that she’s relatively healthy. That’s obvious with the way she’s able to squat for a long period of time on the sideline. I honestly don’t even want to think about her not being our coach in the future but I wondered.

I think she will probably step away around year 7 or 8. Especially if the team has a Coach on the staff in future she might be molding.

Yeah I was wondering who would take over if everyone stayed on staff. Maybe Redus but I don’t think he’s much of an X & O’s guy. I’m sure Scott would hire another great coach though.

Speaking of Redus, here’s a very insightful & detailed interview about which coaching drills & coaching techniques that Redus uses for vets vs rookies. It’s a fascinating listen, if y’all have idle time.

Provided she physically stays healthy and LSU continues to have success on the court I think she will coach to around 70. I really really think she wants to try to match the titles won at Baylor and she probably feels her ceiling at LSU is higher given the resources. And if she keeps a staff around which all help each other so no one is over worked, the longer she is in it. Mulkey doesn’t strike me as the type to automatically go into retirement just because of her age. She likes the sport too much. She will continue as long as she is healthy and winning. Those two factors dictate how much longer she will do it.

I think she’s stated in the past that as long as she enjoys it she won’t put an age on retiring. Apparently she’s getting a new contract that will make her the highest paid coach in WBB.
