Yes. But according to some on here the entire Geismar area doesn't give a shite about LSU, especially the black community, so LSU better be on it's knees praying for this kid.

Well, considering our shitty QBs torched their secondary last year that's not saying very much.

I just don't get the creepy obsession with him. Spurrier abused his defense last year too. Auburn looked like a playstation offense in the 2nd half of the iron bowl. Saban will go down as one of the greatest college football coaches of all time but he's certainly not invincible.

Damn, that's got to be the most forward looking commitment date I have ever seen.

Is the day something special?

Remember Saban is probably the greatest defensive mind in college football right now. I know he's the best DB coach.

Bama gave up to Auburnt.

I have know idea but to say he's definitely coming here and they have nothing more to offer is absurd.

And yet somehow LSU could be sending a DB to the NFL as a possible #1 overall pick, despite Saban never having coached him.

It may not be the lock some are saying, but the facts are LSU can equal, if not, out offer Bama in the reasons-to-attend-LSU category in this particular situation.

So, "absurd" is the wrong word. "Debatable" might be more accurate.

Yeah< I think it is fricking hilarious. he soooooo sure that the kid is going to LSU. I wouldn't take anything for granted at this point. There's so much stupid in these statements. You sound like you are a writer for Rivals. Saban is a good coach but no better than Chizik, Cooper, Pelini, or any other respected DB coach. You stating Saban is the undoubtedly best DB coach is as absurd as guaranteeing LC goes to LSU. You lack the ability and cannot personally validate who is and isn't the best DB coach. I ask: has Saban ever had a CB go top 5 in the draft? Cause PP7 will go top 5. Before you tell me PP7 would have done that anywhere he went, I don't think Saban players lack or lacked talent. He's had some nice players drafted; Corey Webster, Kareem Jackson, etc. My point is he's not without question the best, but one of the best, along with Ron Cooper and others.

As for LC, nothing is for sure but I have family that lives next door to Eric Reids parents in Dutchtown and 3 cousins that attend the school with LC. Eric Reid and LC are super tight and fwiw the family I have says Reid and LC have always talked about playing together at safety. Combine this with being close to home, LC they believe is a lock to lsu on decision day. He just wants to do it on his Bday.

Yep. You can't be one of the best defensive minds in college football, and have humbling moments.

news flash. saban isn't the best db coach. his secondaries have not been the strength of his teams. it's been his d lineman. saban's a good db coach. hardly the best. there are a number of db coaches who are as good or better.

I think it's safe to say Cooper is one of the best DB coaches in college football. It's hard to compare him to a head coach of another program and trying to call one better than the other is just splitting hairs. Bottom line is, both know what they're doing.

His entire defenses have been good.. and that's the end of the argument. When you're posting a top-5 defense year after year.. every single unit on the field is elite, along with coaching.

what would you rather have, the best db coach in college, but can't devote all attention because he has to run an entire time

or

one of the top 5 db coaches in college that gives you their full attention
