LSU still pursuing Chase

Jamarr Chase got his 5th star this week. I know the rumor was he wants to go out of state, but looks like we are still pushing hard for him:

On Wednesday, LSU wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph will head in-home with Chase for the second time in two weeks. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron still has his in-home visit to come with the Top 10 wide receiver prospect, who said he will likely make a decision closer to NSD.
TCU will host Chase for an official visit on Dec. 15.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball still favors the Horned Frogs, but picks are also in for LSU. Auburn joins LSU and Michigan as two other teams Chase said are showing serious interest.

Chase and Marshall are elite. LSU is doing everything they can to finish the WR class with those two to make 4 total. Would be a great finish.

Need to get him booked on an official

Chase visits with Keondre Coburn to TCU on the 15th and they are trying to get Beal to switch his Fla visit to TCU that same day with Rogers making an unofficial.

We should continue to until he signs. If the staff believes he's as good as 247 does then you chase him until you can't. I think he's a tad over ranked but still think he deserves a spot if he wants one. All that matters is what the staff thinks.
I personally don't see him signing with us no matter when though the later he commits the better shot we have

What makes you think he’s over ranked?

LSU cb from Barton Simmons... interesting!

Michigan insiders think he's leaning towards them.

How good is this guy? His accuracy % seems pretty low.

He’s one I usually follow along with sonny and Shea. For him to switch his pick this late he must have some solid info

Nice. I just saw the 73% accuracy rate and that seems much lower than other guys.

The state of Louisiana produces a lot of skill position players every year. This year it's loaded with WR's. Ja'Marr Chase, Lawrence Key's III, Devonta Jason, Terrace Marshall, Kenan Jones, Jaray Jenkins. If you want a balanced recruiting class, you just can't take all of them. How many WR will LSU sign in this class? I doubt very seriously they will sign six, maybe 4, so, which ones should they sign? I've watched video on all these guy's, and I like Key's III, Terrace Marshall, Kenan Jones, Jaray Jenkins. It would be hard to pick just 4, but you just can't take all of them and still have room for other key players.

I remember in one of the camps that there was a buzz that he outperformed Marshall and was a more polished receiver. That is my recollection. That makes sense if he's now getting bumped. Either one or both would be great. But, I also remember talk that he wants to go out of state.
Until the ink dries though it's all speculation.

IMO he definitely looked better than Marshall in the 1 on 1's against the DB's at the Nike camp. Chase got out of his stance quicker and was more fluid in his route running. Marshall never really separated himself from the defenders from what I saw, but in 7 on 7's he was apparently the deep threat. Personally I think Chase is better in their current state, but if Marshall gets taught proper technique (ie: not shuffling his feet for 5 min before running his route) he'll be a monster too.

I just don't see what makes him elite. To me a 5* is elite and usually has elite traits and I don't see any in Chase. Its just my opinion really. He has a good skillset and is definitely worth a spot but I'd say he's more of top 60 type guy not top 20
