I know what you're saying but stop short of discounting the value of raw talent. There is just a new reality in CFB and coaches have to deal with and manage this BS. Which is what it is, but it does seem to be getting better.

If you look at it through the lens of a GM, there should be additional funds available that weren't there when he originally committed. If he is the top player at a position of need, maybe you reallocate some funds and increase his offer to where it then makes sense for his family.
