It baffles me how Texas continues to suck with the beasts they have, and the constant top recruiting classes, not to mention the conference they play in...

I only read that on another board. But if that's true then yes, I doubt a rivals analyst would use information gathered from a competing site to send out a tweet like this.

I hope LSU will have room for him.

LSU would have room for this kid.

Don't worry, we fell off but are climbing back up the mountain. All of our teams have been there before.

That would be nice. I have a healthy respect for LSU football...I came up watching Dalton Hilliard back in the day. One of my early CFB favorites.

From 2004-2009, Texas had arguably two of the best all time college QBs in Vince Young and Colt McCoy. Then, all of a sudden, they had a head case (Gilbert) and a series of guys who just weren't/aren't good. Texas in 2011 reminded me of LSU in 2009/2010. Stout defense but anemic offense due to a lousy QB. Indeed, you could say the same about LSU in 2011 except our running game, special teams and some good early season QB play masked the problem.

There is little doubt in my mind that if Texas gets a decent QB in their, they are right back into the top 5. Problem is, I just don't see that guy on their roster (then again, did anyone expect Colt McCoy to be that guy?)

Yeah, I'm optimistic that Ash with the majority of practice reps can make some positive strides this year. He's a tough kid who took his expected lumps and never quit.

Gilbert - to swing and miss with such a big time QB recruit is killer. We were way too passive with QB recruiting in 2008 and let kids like Andrew Luck get away without a fight because Gilbert was such a lock.

Beast!!

He looked a little nervous at Rivals though playing out of his comfort zone.

Agree. Texas will be back. They are very much like LSU was in 2008 and 2009. Young, questionable qbs with loads of talent and skill everywhere else. Our 2 years weren't quite as bad as their 2 but the similarities are many. They could have a season like our '10 season this year. 10-2 with 11-1 possible. Built around running and defense. It's like they got the same blueprint we did.

I'm going with TAM for Prevot at the moment. I'm 50/50 pretty much but think the other kids committed to TAM win him over. If he makes it in for camp in July then we could swing him.If not, consider him off our board. We'll fill up before fall aside from Williams and Prevot isn't getting his spot.

At the Elite 11 event in Dallas he was throwing in some drills that he had never attempted before.

He will definitely be a beast if he continues to put in the work on his passing game which I'm sure he will...good kid and a hard worker.

Personally think that since Prevot is waiting util after his senior season to commit that we may be full at DE. With his coaches ties to LSU I say we lead but the dude needs to be here in July or he may be aTm bound due to spots left.

Every Texas A&M fan posts this like it was the only thing holding you back. It wasn't/isn't.

None of those beasts have been in the OL - that's the problem. And generally very few on offense.

Edit to add I think Prevot goes to LSU since they were the first ones on his bandwagon. No reason otherwise.

Way more problems on that team than just OL. Two years ago y'all were one of the worst defenses around, and Gilbert has been very unimpressive despite coming in as the second coming.
