Desoto’s offensive line is too much. They beat Duncanville earlier this season. No real chance for Atkins to make an impact in this one

The scheme isnt helping him, but he looks really tentative. He is also overmatched as lineman his size are getting into him and locking him up with ease. He looks passive and doesnt persue well. Desoto is awesome, but an SEC quality linebacker should at least be able to make some noise.

I freely admit this is the first full game I have watched the kid play, and really hope this is not representative of his ability.

Might be tentative due to his d-line getting killed by Desotos o-line. If he can't read the gaps and such then he can't shoot them or scrape to them as easily as he mightve been able to in past games. Plenty of factors in play here. Desoto just outmatches them in pretty much every way, makes it really hard to play loose and realistically it might be hard to immediately play up to Desotos speed and aggressiveness if every other team you've played against did not possess that level of speed and talent. Just my 2 cents though as I could be completely wrong

Yeah Desoto Olineman man handled Duncanville Dline so that is definitely taking him out the game. I sure the Oline are making it to 2nd level.

Go back and watch Keys post game interviews. LSU is getting a playmaker that is a great kid.

He's no longer projected to flip. He shut it down and will be signing with LSU.

I didn't see him get hurt, but he was out of the game the last series and a half. I hate to say it but his replacement looks better and had made two tackles.

Im not sure if he was sick, dinged up but he looked nothing like his season highlights tonight. It probably didnt help that Desoto has a 340 lb guard and lightning quick center but honestly, Keys looks like the significantly better athlete at this point.

Lot of stupid people in this thread. They’re literally running a 6-1 and his the ONLY linebacker on the inside. I’m not sure if anyone has a clue how insanely difficult that is

It is the reason. Desoto’s OLine is massive, one of the best units in America in high school. I’ve lost count on how many times he got covered up or double teamed by a 6’7” 340 human coming to whip his arse.

Watched him several times against teams that didn’t overwhelm his d line he jumps off the screen and makes plays everywhere from the run, pass rushing, and coverage. He’s nominated for Mr. Texas football as a linebacker

He’s a linebacker. He just needs to add about 30 pounds to his frame
