Yeah, LSU hasn't had the best of results from transfer DT (Lee, Washington, etc) but Shanks was pretty good and Paez was a real mainstay. With the history, don't expect much out of Mitchell from Texas...not highly rated out of HS nor in the transfer portal. I will say his college offers during his HS recruiting were better than his recruiting rating.

I am still hopeful for Shone Washington. I really wanted him out of high school, and saw some promising plays this year. He didn't make headlines last year, but was ok in limited pt. The Mitchell monster will be used in short yardage, so has value. I think we need to add another DT, though. Especially with Guillory coming back from a major injury. Suggs should have stayed.

Reason why LSU didn't recruit him out of HS. Processed at Florida. LSU was desperate for DL, but now processed here too.
