You don’t think these big DLinemen know you can go to Alabama and these other schools smoke weed and get away with it, with Not even a slap on the wrist.” Go to LSU get caught smoking weed and get suspended for half the year and gets worse from there. You’re living with your head in the sand if you dont Think it matters these kids what the punishment is if you get caught smoking marijuana. Fact is if you want to compete with Alabama you have to put yourself on a level playing surface and be willing to get just as dirty as them

Smoking isn’t a big deal. Agree.

You do realize that it takes multiple failed tests for any real consequences at LSU right? It’s not like LSU is laying down the hammer on a player for one popped test.

So they are choosing smoking weed over playing football? Do we really want those guys if that’s the case?

1. It's weed not crack.
2. If it means winning, then yes.

I’m not saying smoking weed is a bad thing at all. I myself used to do it but I started work for a company that says I can’t smoke weed so I simply don’t smoke weed.

if you want to win, you want those guys. If you're okay with mediocrity, then don't get those kids.

yep, Mathieu probably failed 6-8 tests before he was kicked off the team. Kids are given multiple chances if they screw up and test positive

The thing is you still get in trouble and get suspended for it. Meanwhile in Tuscaloosa Alabama they have kids failing in the upper 30’s drug test and you never hear anything about it. That’s a big difference

along with the financial aid office giving LSU one of the lowest cost of attendance stipends in the conference.

Kids are giving up $2k+ per year to come to LSU over other SEC rivals.

I was taught to live up to the standards set before you or exceed them. I teach my son the same. Being competitive shouldn't mean that we have to lower our standards. If that is the reason, let them go. Development young men of good character should be a goal.

Bingo. Our low stipend kills recruiting. Imagine how much easier recruiting would be if we could advertise the highest stipend payments in the SEC.
