Thanks, that's pretty much what I had scoped out, but I just hadn't known if there was more out there that I was missing. But I wasn't too far off. That would be a stellar class.

I really hope we hold on to the guys we have too. I'm really intrigued in Ezewiro being a project (he's about 6'8-6'9) but has been measured anywhere from 230-270 lbs. Heard he's a beast and with a couple of years of polish with his motor, the sky is the limit. Culbert is highly touted I believe and Murray looks very underrated for a 3-star. If we can land Fudge, while keeping the freshman guards we have this season.

However, J.D. Davison is a very interesting notch in all of this. Would be amazing to keep our 5-star ball rolling each cycle. And a guy of his caliber is the type of difference-maker that would give us the hype and probably the play to back up that hype.

Just checked out some JD Davison footage. I will definitely need to view more. However, from what I viewed this kid is a MUST GET. Very impressive film.

JD Davison highlights

This kid is cerebral. He is always thinking 2-3 steps ahead and picking apart his opposition in his mind. Most plays he doesn't even have to look up to scan the court, he knows how everyone is going to move or react to his movements. You can see on some of the transition plays, he literally and intentionally pulls 2-3 people towards him to open up his teammates or does a quick move and gets past everyone with his speed. He's got a very NBA-ready skill set. He's a very elite finisher. And the obvious plus is he is a two-way guard, with plenty of blocks on defense with his athleticism.

He makes some of the flashy and exciting passes that Tremont made for us; he has a little bit more grace so they don't seem as out of place or wild when they happen. He just seems like one of those kids that knows how to control the game with his play, whether he's having a big scoring night or not.

Here's a junior year mixtape of him:

LINK

His athleticism and ability to finish at the rim is beyond elite. I don't think we've had someone at that level. Would be really nice to have him after both Smart and Cameron Thomas likely leave after next year

This young man is just different. Wow. I know it's a highlight tape, but just the variety of things he does at seemingly an elite level has me in awe. The dunks, the contact finishes, the effortless no-look one-touch passes, he gets his own rebounds, alley-oops to himself, his 3pt shooting, his midrange shooting. My goodness, it is hard to imagine what the prospects ranked above him look like.

Hopefully, Will Wade is personally recruiting this kid and I hope that he visits LSU and experiences the home feeling vibe and family vibe that our athletes speak of. Seems like with the recent CBs coming in, we may actually be his landing spot.

Wow! JD is a hell of a player. I see very little chance to get him out of the state of Alabama with both Auburn and Bama going after him hard. Would be a hell of a coup to get him to BR.

I don’t think you understand what “must get” means. While it would be amazing to land him saying he is a must get makes no sense.

Basketball recruiting is so much different than football recruiting, it's not nearly as common for players to stay in state in basketball vs. football recruiting. Not saying we have a great chance there with this guy, but it's just not a much a thing to "stay home" in basketball as it is in football for school.

Not all 5-stars are created equally. I may have used the term in an exaggerated context, but I did mean it. JD seems to be that very elite type of polished 1-and-done prospect that raises the potential of a team exponentially. Especially with the right pieces around him.

I understand who we are going after, but if we truly have a shot at JD, which it is hinted that he has an interest in LSU, we made his Top 6 then we should go after him. For this kid I say go all-in, don't let the narrative of where he's from or the other programs going after him dictate our recruiting effort.

We've had in my opinion 2-3 must get prospects to slip away from us in the past 2 seasons: N'Faly Dante and Moussa Cisse.

I'm not saying "must get" in the sense that it will make or break the program if we do or don't get JD, but landing him could send a positive ripple effect for years to come. As I said, the only thing separating us from other programs right now is that we have not gotten one of our top players selected very early in the NBA Draft. Naz Reid who was mocked to be a sure shot lottery pick went undrafted. Now, that is not entirely the program's fault, and as the season went about it was noted that Naz probably needed another year of college to work on certain aspects of his game. But still, some recruits take serious notice of things like that. Especially those high ranked guys who want to make it to the NBA immediately.

With Coach Wade, I feel that we will consistently (with the rosters he gets and his scheduling) be a tourney team, which is a huge goal as a program. However, we have the potential with top-notch recruiting to consistently be an Elite 8 / Final 4 type of team as well. These are the types of recruits that launch that immediately. Of course, it can still be done with the guys who aren't as highly-regarded, but it will take a little bit longer in terms of development to get that consistent product.

I think a lot depends on whether he will be able to visit or not. He really wants to come to campus. He has been to UGA, GA Tech and Auburn. All 3 schools are high on his list. Alabama is recruiting him hard also. We certainly have a shot. I think realistically we have to get him on campus for a visit to have a real shot.

Not sure if you guys saw this LINK / (article) about Jerrell Colbert. The article came out last week.

Colbert is transferring from his school in Pasadena, Texas to play at Houston High School in Memphis, Tennessee. This is also significant because the new basketball coach at Houston High School is the former Memphis Tigers assistant coach (our recruiting nemesis as of late), ex-NBA player Mike Miller. Miller who resigned last year after serving 2 years under Penny Hardaway, and became elite at recruiting for the Tigers.

This spells trouble... Colbert is expected to quickly become the number one ranked player in the state of Tennessee after his rankings are adjusted and the high school season begins. Colbert did confirm his commitment to LSU is solid a few weeks back; however, this throws a minor wrench into that if Miller were to press Colbert. Even so, Miller played college ball in Florida, which is also trying to rise in the SEC. Colbert being in Memphis also means he'll be getting more looks from the University of Tennessee as well.

We really need Colbert; he's a very solid pickup for the real Tigers and Wade. He could very well start here as a freshman, and that will be determined more by how the roster pans out. Even so, he would garner a lot of playing time. With the amount of talent and types of talent Wade is getting in, it's going to be hard to keep all these high profile guys on the bench. He's going to have to play them. Just like 2 years ago, this season he will have to experiment with a loaded starting roster and a loaded bench.

Not trying to stir up any conspiracy. Just presenting the story since it is pertaining to a commit for the 2021 class.

Not as bad as you think. The word is he is actively recruining for LSU. Remember, The early signing period begins on November 11th this year.

Okay, that is wonderful. It's just unsual when such a drastic scenery change like that happens. And it also happens to be in an area with a university that seems to be trying to pick off our recruits.

I know Colbert is all in, just with how recruiting has been going all over I had a shade of worry; I hope he continues to recruit for us and helps load up the 2021 and 2022 classes at LSU, because we could potentially see our starting-5 in the NBA draft.

From the quotes in that article, I believe it's an AU and Kansas battle.

He actually mentioned two of Auburn's coaches by name and seems to really like what they have built there. I really hope Wade turns up the pressure on this kid in the next 24 hours. I feel like we've actually done a much better job at developing point guards than Auburn has. JD would fit our system perfectly and would be the star of the show on our team next season.

We need to get him in for a visit in the spring (once everything is permitted). It feels like if he commits to one of those other schools it isn't over.
