Tenn Wyatt Evans has entered his name.
The move comes as no shock as the 6-foot-6, 245-pound southpaw was not on the active roster for the Vols in 2024 and did not pitch for the 2023 Omaha Vols as he was dealing with injury

I love this time of year. Nothing fires me up more than the baseball recruiting thread having a little purple dot next to "Recent post."

This is literally all I have to look forward to on TD at this point. Hopefully CJJ hits the ground running and gets some studs in the portal! Also hoping for a few key guys to decide to come back for their junior year.

Now that baseballs over, I’m gonna find myself refreshing this page over 20 times a day

I’m here to give thanks for this thread.
So are we done with COVID eligibility? What will be the 2025 roster limit? 35? 40?

I do believe we are done with Covid eligibility now. Unsure of the roster limit.
I’m super stoked for this year’s class. It will be interesting to see what some of the bubble draft guys do this year
( Jones, Herring ) I think both of these kids could work themselves into the first round by coming back one more year.

I think because both are Sophmores they will still have leverage. I agree I think they will get more hype going into the season which they didn’t have last year which will boost their stock. Jones is about the same player as Kurtz imo, and think he can play himself up.

I'll post something later but draft eligible sophomores in the last ten years average draft position is 75 overall or higher which puts that slot amount around an 1.0 million. If Jones or Herring are drafted anywhere around that spot then we'll know their intentions...otherwise they'll basically fall out out of the top 10 rounds.
Edited: It looks like the number is slightly lower but a majority are still coming off the board in rounds 2-3.

Edit: Decided to use 2021,2022,2023 because of the draft changes to help better track.
2021 - 11 sophomores drafted with an average draft position of 92 (0 did not sign)
2022 - 21 sophomore drafted with an average draft potion of 95 (1 did not sign)
2023 - 12 sophomore drafted with an average draft potion of 123 (0 did not sign)

COVID eligibility is done now. Roster size is 40. Will be a lot of moving parts in the near future. Hate that the season is over but this is one of my favorite parts of the year.

Nice work. So really anything inside the top 4 or 5 rounds they are gone.

Right now we're somewhere in the neighborhood of 52 or 53 over 40.
It's unclear because of the statuses of Victorian, Arambula, and Ruddell.
ETA: And I'm still looking for summer leagues for a lot of guys. Cooley, Lape, Thompson, Harden and all the incoming freshmen except Pearson.

Correct, with their added leverage it has to be almost a certainty for a team to make a deal before their name is called.

Moscona tweeting we are in the mix for the Louisville SS. What are the chances he’s getting the information from this board?
