I saw Hannagriff tweeting about it. Guy was talented but a weirdo. Despite his circuitous path, once he got into pro ball, he moved pretty quickly. Probably should have just signed with the Blue Jays out of high school.

Definitely thought he’d flame out. Looks like he had 2 straight awesome years in the minors, but struggled this year.

Jamie Tutko's title was changed from Video Coordinator to Director of Video and Scouting. I'm hoping this means they're actually going to leverage his role going forward. The way we seemed to be wholly unprepared at times last season makes me think we didn't use much video and/or scouting.

The technology exploded in baseball and he was likely hired to run whatever they bought - I know they use trackman and I'm pretty sure they bought some new pitching system as well.
It's some pretty expensive systems and you need someone that can utilize the data those systems spit out
The average baseball coach doesn't have time to deal with that, Tutko probably gathered all the data to make sense of it for the staff on top of his scouting of opponents role and getting all that video together especially for sec teams before those crucial series.
It's probably a very tedious job and you need to have some very technical IT type skills to mine through all the data and filter out what can actually help you and not just overload the coaches with useless data.

I’m sure it’s all just bc we have a new coach and some of the kids don’t have a relationship with him yet.
I highly doubt Coach is doing any evaluations of his own relative to current commits.
Our evals were so strong, frankly there’s no reason to question them.

We may have picked up another commitment today, still looking around to see if I can find it.

Got asked to go ump a pretty prestigious showcase tourney in Melissa, TX next weekend but haven't committed yet. Imagine there is going to be some elite D1 / MLB talent there. I've heard some great reviews about the facility and have had several opportunities to work there, but hasn't agreed with my schedule yet.

We just picked up a commit from Canadian RHP Micah Bucknam. He was drafted by the Blue Jays this year and was previously committed to Washington. He was originally a class of 2021 kid but is returning to Canada for Grade 13 (a Canada thing) and reclassifying to 2022.

Yes. The closest analogy would him doing a post grad year at like IMG.

Baseball America has ranked us with the 14th best recruiting class in the post draft rankings.
I know their rankings don't count the transfer portal guys. I think they count JUCO guys.
One of the sites does a newcomer ranking that I'm sure we will be much higher in.
