Losing Corey Raymond sucks but…

Kelly has done a good job with his staff so far. He has 2 really good recruiters with Louisiana ties in Frank Wilson and Brad Davis. Brian Polian can recruit really good TE’s and the west coast. Kerry Cooks is also a good recruiter who has Texas ties and can also recruit Oklahoma/Arizona. We are going to be alright, BK knows what he his doing.

I agree.
Would love coordinators that are strong recruiters, especially with Texas and Florida experience.

Most everyone is hoping Cooks is an analyst and is on the verge of melting down if he's an on-field coach. He's TERRIBLE at coaching

Go look at his commit list on 247. It’s not Corey Raymond level but he has landed some good recruits

Landing good OK recruits at OU isn't anything special. There's only a handful of top OK recruits each year and damn near everyone grew up dreaming of being at OU.

It's very underwhelming if Cooks is named the DB coach. But the fact that he hasn't been named yet gives me hope

don't remember reading anyone stating this. not sure where this came from. of course that is a downgrade....IF Cooks is coaching CBs. If not, there is nothing to worry about.

He's failed under multiple DCs and I don't know if he's ever had a really good year coaching DBs
Why has he been unable to get a coaching job the past 2 years? He's been fired at 2 Big12 schools back to back and only been given analyst jobs since.

You sure about that? The entire coaching board told me a cornerbacks coach(raymond) was responsible for the 2 down years at lsu.

No. Try to keep up. I’m talking about your protracted “I’m too intelligent to melt” melt a few days before the hire. You basically penned a novel that one of the few options left on the board was Stoops, meaning that Woody had obviously botched the coaching search. You were convinced that the rumors of interest in him meant he was a legitimate candidate.
But you were obviously wrong. The rumors around this entire transition have all been bullshite. Woody did his job and we got a coach who is vastly superior to any of the names you were throwing around, especially fricking Stoops.
As for not knowing what melting is, just because you throw some vaguely logical supposition around, that doesn’t mean it’s not a melt. When you ramble on for hours complaining about a situation that’s completely imaginary, like it or not, you’re still melting.
No one has been right about anything before it happened to this point. This process is pretty much airtight for once, which is a good thing. Just let it all play out. Then bitch and moan if there’s a legitimate reason to when it’s done.
