Little bit of copium + where we go from here (hint: the Portal)

Looking back through the last couple classes of top HS QBs (b/c why not?) to see how successful or not they’ve been…
2024: only 2 guys have seen much action. Lagway at UF looks to be a stud + Raiola has mixed reviews right now.
2023: Arch has shown flashes in limited opportunities, Moore had a few moments last year and is now sitting behind Gabriel at Oregon, Nico isn’t exactly setting the world on fire at Tennessee, Avery Johnson has been pretty solid at KSU… but beyond that not much from top guys.
2022: Klubnik is finally coming around, but a wasteland of disappointment beyond that.
All that to say there’s no guarantees with HS kids coming in and having success at P4 schools in the past few cycles.
There will be good portal QB targets - we need to be ready to pay through the nose for one, and we’ll be OK.

My two cents: go after Ben Taylor, Airline QB. He’s killed it the last two seasons and is probably gonna end up second in career passing yards for the state.

I like this. Save the $$ for Stewart and a portal QB. He’s now tiger bait. Dude folded to the $$ and Portnoy is a straight loser boasting online. Like college football is whack now

Names off the top to keep an eye on in the portal - John Mateer at Wazzu, Darian Mensah at Tulane, and somebody from Ohio St out of Sayin/Noland/St Clair.

I don't know if he'll hit the portal or not, but Sawyer Robertson has been having a solid year at Baylor.

We dont need a transfer quarterback. Nuss, collins, then elijah haven

You want to take a QB each cycle. Portal or HS, either way you need 4.
Haven is great too, but he’s 2027.

the very reason we need a transfer QB... Nuss is our starter and he's simply not good enough.... sorry, he just ain't... we all wanted him to be, but the fact is, he's not... he's one dimensional, full of bad habits, etc... it's best for him to go on about his way to the NFL or some other school, and for LSU to get a new, hopefully dual threat, QB

Underwood has a better ceiling than all these guys listed here.
