Thanks.
Not to sound arrogant, but with success comes envy.
For some, you will become the measuring stick for their program.
Accept it, but don't get rattled by it.
It's a very flattering gesture from them to you - in reverse.

Someone explain to me how we lost a guy from Texas to Alabama with his mother being an alum at LSU and his sister currently going to LSU?

thunderbird.........try to keep up.
There's serious debate whether or not he even had a commitable offer at the moment. Believe what you will but his recruitment was not cut and dried.

This isn't just backlash bullshite like most times when we don't land a kid, is it? every site said he had an offer.

well this discussion started a week ago so I don't consider it backlash. It seems there is a serious possibility.
Now, that said, those LSU people running with it and saying "we didn't want him, he didn't even have a real offer," they're the ones spreading the backlash bullshite.

just because its an offer doesn't mean its a commitable one

Per Rivals, Lindsay is not in the top 11 O-linemen that LSU is recruiting.
He may not be the top-ranked Guard for what LSU is looking for. There are three guys from LA (West Monroe, Denham Springs, Edna Karr), one from MS, and O.C. Brown from Memphis, TN.
Sometimes recruits want to commit early so they don't have to compete for a slot. Though recruits decommit ocassionally. It's rare that once a recruit commits, the school/program pulls the offer back. In his eyes, he's set and it doesn't matter how he plays this upcoming season. An offer can be motivation for some recruits.
It could be a number of reasons, but I don't see it as a huge loss. I see Guards on our board that appear to be more agile and quicker.

Too many kids in high school get bad advice about choosing which college to attend. Making it a football decision just adds to the hype.
Some things to consider:
[1] Would loose face at school by NOT choosing a school after touting his selection.
[2] Repertoire with position coach.
[3] If actually seeking a degree other than General Studies or Kinesiology, would consider academic departments at prospective colleges.
A kid who reads too many press clippings can easily have an elevated opinion of his own talents. It's up to Lindsay and his advisors (parents don't qualify) which choice favors his future success.
Good luck to Lindsay.

I told you guys several days ago that I was hearing that Lindsay didn't have an LSU offer, and this was from a USC recruitnik and not an LSU fan.
Like I said it would not surprise me if Lindsay held a bunch of verbal/non-committable offers and for whatever reason got confused and listed them as offers. As stupid as it sounds it happens every year, the timing of how he had like 30-"offers" before the '09 class was even signed is a dead give away IMO.
Who remembers that WR from Louisiana a few years back who tried to commit to Ohio State only to be told he never had an offer. He listed offers from several big SEC schools only to not sign @ any one because it turns out he never had any of those offers. A lot of times kids are "offered" as well but its a conditional offer which means that kid cant accept it until the coaches green-light him.

It's not a big deal LSU signed 3 guards this past class alone so we will be fine.

LSU also offered Christine Michael and we all saw how good that offer was after time had passed.

We didn't lose anyone. Lindsey didn't have an offer from LSU. It is that simple and no, not every site said he had an offer. The LSU recruitnik with the most solid info even confirmed that he had no offer.
LSU will sign higher rated OL out of Texas this year.

It's so funny watching people post complete BS after a recruit makes a decision.

i know. i'm particularly enjoying the quotes from the bama fans who thought this kid wasn't good enough for texas, oklahoma, or bama and now think he's awesome and a "road-grader"

Agreed. It's even funnier to see who's laughing when these guys actually become juniors and seniors and are still waiting to play.
You seem smart enough to know that Bama will beat out LSU for plenty of recruits (MUCH higher rated than Lindsey) and that Bama doesn't need to waste time making silly meaningless arguments with anyone about Bama's recent recruiting skills.
I didn't see anyone saying that LSU didn't offer Richardson. In the end, believe what you like if it makes you feel good. You probably know a lot more about LSU recruiting than we do.

What's even funnier is how bad Bama fans want LSU fans to be distraught over a Guard that commits in April 2009 because LSU is the measuring stick for them to gauge the relevance of their program after so many years of irrelevance.
As if Lindsay is the most athletic, agile, and quickest beast on the planet.
LSU is not short of Guards after this past class and there are at least two guys from Louisiana, Mississippi just as good or better than Lindsay. Now, if you guys sign O.C. Brown out of Memphis, then I may feel something. Lindsay could very well be an open door into your backfield. Be careful with the gloating when you aren't sure what you got.
