I'm going to bet (b) is the answer.

That business with the text message to Krags and Brick in the parking lot of the school was probably something along the lines of "the last thing that we need is me meeting with coaches from LSU here at the school; the yokels will have a shite-fit."

And apparently they just did the sit-down at his house that night instead.

Seems like he was trying to manage the local goofs so they didn't roll the clock back to 1963 or something.
