For Gator, Derrick Henry ran a 4.45, all 232 pounds of him. Impressive.
Top player in Florida next year.

Surprised you guys are all still up and in here. I've been dropping movie reviews into the Netflix thread at the top of the Movie & TV Board.
As always this is a year where there are some unbelievable kids out there.
I am just glad we get to see so many of them by following SEC schools, even if some of us aren't in an SEC state. gatordmb89 we've got to do something to keep Jimbo from getting so many good kids. I don't want to have to start watching ACC games to keep up with recruits.
I am leaving this stuff to you guys. Will come back tomorrow and check it all again.

Collins was crowned Combine King. I guess his second (40) must have been really fast.

Those numbers from Henry are really impressive considering he's 6'3 230 and a SO.

Id like to see Torshiro Davis's numbers, anywhere I can find them?

Was he there? I didn't see him on any of the leaderboards.

Oh you're right. That's more up to Arkansas standards and their $50 bribes

Speaking of Cassius Marsh, he was one of the guys, along with Trovon "Family" Reed and Lache, that Willie Lyles brought to the 2009 Florida game that has many worried. Of course, everyone who attended the game with Willie went elsewhere. It will be interesting to see if UCLA pops up on the Willie Lyles hit parade

ESPNU is showing whatever is going on at The Opening tonight and tomorrow night at 8pm central and 9pm central.
I think the 9pm is probably just a re-airing of the 8pm show.

4.42 forty, 4.2 shuttle, 43 ball toss, 43.7 vertical, and the Bama Scout guy said LSU!
Tom Hauck for ESPN.comLandon Collins not only ran a fast 40, but showed explosiveness with the vertical jump.

BEAVERTON, Ore -- The winner wasn't the only story.
Landon Collins walked off with the SPARQ ratings national championship trophy on Wednesday night at The Opening at Nike World Headquarters. He certainly deserved it, especially after the 6-foot, 210-pound safety turned in a clutch 4.42-second 40-yard dash on the night's final test.
"That was the time I needed," the four-star standout from Geismar (La.) Dutchtown said.
During interviews after the event, Collins, who is No. 51 in the ESPNU 150 and the No. 4 safety in the nation, was proud and surprised.
"My performance was great," he said. "I did more than I thought I could do coming in."
Collins admittedly didn't think he could win the SPARQ finals amidst the 10-man competition, one of whom was a rising sophomore: running back Altee Tenpenny from North Little Rock (Ark.) High School.

Tenpenny, who has scholarship offers from Arkansas and Mississippi, was certainly the crowd favorite. Tenpenny took to the vertical jump, the shuttle run, the weighted ball throw and the 40-yard dash with a strong ovation every time.
"He's real likable," finals contestant Corey Coleman said of Tenpenny.
"He's really funny, a really good guy. He's going to do really big things. ... He's really talented."
Tenpenny could certainly elevate his recruiting status with his strong showing this week. Yet he's not being impatient with perspective colleges.
"I'm just thankful for the two offers I have," he said.
"I'm just sitting back chilling. I'll wait my turn."
Don't expect Tenpenny to just be chilling next year if he's invited to The Opening in 2012.
"It's a great experience," he said. "Hopefully I can come back next year and win that trophy."

Mike Davis is doing work for Coach Boom: ESPN
quote:
Florida commit Mike Davis (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson) admits to bringing a list of players he'll talk with about the Gators.
"I've been talking to Dillon Lee, Marcus Maye, Kwon Alexander, Johnathan Gray and Trey Williams," Davis said. "Some of them are already committed but I know they might want to take some visits and I'm going to try to direct them to Gainesville."
Davis knows his efforts might not amount to much, but if he can convince just one player to join him, it will be well worth the effort.
"I want them to know why I like Florida and maybe they should check it out and see what they think," Davis said. "Some of them might join me, and the ones that don't will make the best decision for them ... but they will probably wish they had joined me."

- At 6-3, 223 pounds, LSU commit Torshiro Davis posted a 4.56 40, a 34 inch vertical and a 4.39 shuttle. It’s hard to make the top of the combine lists as linemen or linebackers but Davis’ numbers were impressive in their own right.
quote:
- LSU commit Lamar Louis is competing as a linebacker but could also project at running back. With his numbers, it’s easy to see why. He ran a 4.55, jumped 33 inches in the vertical and had a 4.18 shuttle, all at 225 pounds.
