The first 2 years of the portal, he did great. It’s ok to admit that he failed miserably this past year other than a few WRs. None of the guys you mentioned that were difference makers were apart of last years transfer class.

We took 29 high school players in the 2024 class. Part of the reason for our lack of depth, particularly on defense, is that we had to take a ton of transfers in 2022 and 2023.

We are getting a lot of production out of this freshman class. That will pay dividends over the next 2-4 years.

There’s definitely a balance, but at some point you have to rebuild that base of home-grown upperclassmen so that you can afford to be more selective in the portal.

This is the whole point you dunce. It's a fresking crapshoot. What has ANY of the top DTs we tried to get in the second portal done at the schools they went to? Have you seen FSU after they loaded up on a top portal class again? Spoiler Alert, they have one friggin win.

LSU is doing it the right way. LSU tried going after several top CBs and safeties and the only bites were Gilbert. LSU tried going after top DTs and the only true DT we could get was Suggs (Paez was a large DE that was converted to a DT).

Unless you're willing to cough up the millions it will cost to get the elite of the elite portal kids, shut the hell up about it.

Im telling you right now those Ole Miss pocketbooks are not going to be open to do what they did the past 2 years. Several schools were in position for all or nothing seasons, and they spent anywhere from 10-20 mill to build a one and done team.

LSU's recruiting haul and our coaches will have an immediate better team in place next year. All the crap transfers we've piled up are slowing running out of eligibility or being moved out.

We need to build our guys through our culture from high school. We only need absolutely necessary portal guys. You won't know that until all the kids declare.

I think we will know very shortly if Kelly cares enough to do what needs to be done or if he’s just collecting a check.

Really hope the insinuations about spending more time on the golf course than anywhere else and kids going to casino aren’t true.

If they are I can’t imagine we sit through too many more 9-3 or 8-4 seasons for that price tag

LSU has plenty of talent to be an extremely good football team. They have the talent to be in the playoff. They just don't know what to do with it or how to coach it.

LSU has 2 maybe 3 NFL caliber type players playing on defense right now not included the freshman that aren't exactly ready. You have played up to 6 true freshman at the same time on defense.

On offense you have the worst center in the SEC and don't have a number 1 guy at WR. The QB is in his first year and he likes to turn the ball over and can't hit the deep ball.

Go look at UGA, Bama, and Texas right now and the amount of NFL type guys they have running around. UGAs entire secondary are future NFL guys. 7 or 8 of their starters were top 60 ranked recruits and Jalon Walker will be a top 10 pick. Starks at S and Mykel Williams an edge guy will be top 20ish picks. Bama is in a "down year" but they have like 5 or 6 5 stars starting on defense.

I don't think you understand the level of talent you need to compete at the top of the SEC.

I laugh at the posters who continuously purport that we don't have a talent issue. I always mention that chicken salad tastes like shite when the ingredients are mostly chicken shite. We have a talent issue and high-level recruiting will alleviate that in due time. The portal will be needed some this off-season to fill holes. Makes me think of the C position, which is glaring.

BK's approach is that of an older coach who's been passed up by the current landscape of college football. He will die on the sword if he doesn't embrace the portal as well an incoming freshmen.

I agree if you can get a Nolen or a Umibg???? Whatever you get them but those two 1.5mill$ DTs in the spring portal are not the answer. They ain’t it look at their stats. DTs are on the way and Peeples has made Jones & Swinson very good DEs. We got young pieces but DB and Safety are weak, Stamps I like him but…….. PJ will be good and the new guys i believe are for real(DJ & Phillips). We got to get some OL for sure even it that was supposed to be our strength. Move Chester to G and train Nichols at C now. WR we’ll be fine but Sampson and Mr Glass(Hilton) has to put up now. Next year will be year 4 for CBK, I’m waining but like Grandpa use to say sht or get off the pot.

BK bringing in guys who was falling on the depth chart at the the previous is the problem. He's missed more than he's hit on portal guys.

JK and Jaire got passed up at Ohio St.
Ausberry probably wasn't playing anything but special teams at Auburn.
Gilbert got passed up at A&M.
Shon Washington didn't last at UGA.
Paez is a 6th year senior who contemplated moving on from football.
Suggs has been a decent addition.
I guess we cam blame House for Speights season... but that still falls on BK.
Jalen Lee? Lol... 3rd or 4th on UF depth chart
