Bama signed the #1 recruiting class two months after they ended the season with 6 straight losses.

SABAN

compared to Chizik

I mean which one has a national championship and coached several all-americans.

Alabama's 6 losses = no comparison

I remember last year about this time when Andre DeBose was making trips to LSU on his own dime like this. Can't wait to see him in purple and gold come September! Oh wait...

Ok fine, if bad seasons are a turnoff, why are Reed/ Seastrunk even considering Auburn in the first place after the season they had last year?

U dont think Reed/Seastrunk knows about Chizik's 5-19 record?

frick it, we could use him but we don't need him. Those two big instate backs next year will be more than enough for LSU.

Because Auburn can sell that they sucked because they are lacking the caliber of players that Reed and Seastrunk are. I'm sure the Auburn coaching staff are sucking these kids jocks and calling them everyday to make sure they know they are their number one priority.

Really though the Auburn staff is very good and young. They have spent time in their careers recruiting texas and louisiana. Playing time, playing time, playing time. Seastrunk has a personal connection with a coach at Auburn. All of these reasons are why Auburn has a legit chance.

Saban was able to sell the fact that he turned LSU around when he started at bama. Chizik has yet to do shite and though he can say he will turn Auburn around if he doesn't show the signs his first season of doing so, recruits have no proof that he can do so.

The beauty of Auburn will slowly wear off over time.

Auburn will be lucky to go 5-7 next year.

Recruiting is a long haul. Until NSD, there is no sure thing. AU can receive their congrats on NSD when and if LS inks with the Tigers/War Eagle/Plainsmen.

There will need to be many STRONG intangibles to pull him over to AU at that time, because on paper it doesn't make much sense. In time, the drawbacks will be painfully made obvious by rival coaching staffs.

Cause Auburn is selling him on a high powered offense and pie in the sky promises of how good they will be. When neither of those happen every other team recruiting them will simply chuckle to Seastrunk about Auburn and remind him that the Auburn coaches just aren't in the same league when it comes to the SEC. It will basically destroy the credibility of the Auburn coaches.

The "5-19" card is the most ignorant one that is played when looking at the state of Auburn football. You do realize at Iowa St he cleaned house, booted players, played a bunch of freshman, and was given an extension prior to taking the Auburn job, right?

Look, he hasn't proven jack squat at Auburn yet, other than he's an elite defensive coordinator as evident by his rankings both at Auburn and Texas. He coached 3 Jim Thorpe winnes, he hired a group of excellent recruiters. He knows Auburn and the layout of the land in the SEC. He salvaged a recruitig class in shambles after last year, and he's in on some pretty good players so far this year.

Don't act like Auburn is Vanderbilt. Last time I looked, you people don't exactly pencil us in as a W on your record year in and year out, "with all that talent you have". Check out the number of Auburn Tigers in the pros and LSU Tigers in the pros. I think you'll be surprised.

PS- We kinda have a recent history of success putting running backs in the NFL. So don't be surprised when an elite running back happens to like Auburn.
