Have you been hiding under a rock? You may not like him as a coach, but you can’t question his ability to recruit. K’Lavon Chaisson, Jacob Phillips, and Arden Key immediately come to mind.

Arden Key

What was his involvement with Key? I think he had only been on staff a few weeks before Key committed.

I didn't follow it super heavily but basically...Arden was late action. Orgeron goes to his high school, chatting the kid up, and shows him 3 point stance in the hall way..Arden just loved Orgerons vibe or energy apparently. Was a done deal pretty soon after.

Orgeron is not the closer you think he is. His greatest recruiting wins were when Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin were closing. This is something he obviously needs to improve on, which I think he has begun to do, going by Chaisson last cycle. I think Marvin was on the take from Tim Brewster.
Im not orgeron's biggest fan as a coach but the man can recruit.

Going on a sidetrack here... I would guess Tim Brewster will be going to TAMU with Jimbo. He definitely knows TX, and is Jimbo's not-so-secret weapon.

And yes, rumors about him being dirty since he was working for Mack Brown (UNC and UT).

And I'm not afraid to say it... if he doesn't go with Jimbo, we should go for him as our ST and TE coach. Obviously TEs are his specialty, but he's coached ST before and is indeed a good recruiter with connections in TX and FL.

ETA: I still think O is a good closer. Not the greatest, but good. Misses happen, to every one. He does have something to prove to go beyond "good" though.
