Kaleb Blanchard- 6-1/200 Denham Springs Louisiana Denham Springs

I've heard talk that LSU may not go after a RB very hard in 13' due to returning depth and being able to pitch that to a certain 14' recruit.

That being said, this kid holds an Arky offer and is right down the road. Anyone seen how he looks on the field? Will LSU eventually offer?

This guy is a very intresting prospect to me. After seeing his video of his sophmore year when it first hit the web I was extremely suprised at how good he was on film. He reminds me of Blue in highschool with actually more explosion (obviously Blue now is more explosive having matured). I think the Blue comparison is accurate also because I did not expect us to take Blue. Much like the majority heres first opinion of Blanchard is not a take right now.

I have never seen Blanchard in person so my opinion based soley on highlights may be wrong but if he can come back strong from his injury and be as productive as he was in the past I could see us offering him as an ATH.

The word is that the staff doesn't like any instate RB(they like Perkins at S). Honestly I think they just want to see Blanchard stay healthy as a Sr. If he does and plays like he did as a Soph then I could see him get an offer if we miss OOS and have a spot or absolutely want a rb in the class. He was impressive as a Soph imo. OOS clearly is the preference at this point but I don't see who we're going to land from the current offers unless the Adam Taylor offer is legit. Greg Bryant is possible because he certainly looks like he's leaving FL but Oklahoma and USC have the leg up right now.

You heard, as in, you read TD right?

Did I state it as fact? Yes, I read it in another, unrelated, thread. You act like it's a huge secret that we have a ton of RBs on the roster, and will be making a huge push for Fournette.

I was curious, since he plays literally 15 mins from BR, if anyone had seen him in person and what their opinion was.

Thanks to everyone else who actually answered the question, instead of being a smartass to look cool.

Saw him play the last 2 years. Normally has a big first half but wears down quick. Really comes of as a finesse runner. He gets beat up and had a hard time staying on the field last year. Tremendous athlete when he is on the field he makes plays. Explosive but soft. If he bulked up a little bit and kept the explosion he would be really good. He has excellent vision and is good at making cuts/finding holes. Blue is a really good comparison.

My daughter's a senior right now at Denham and says it was really disappointing last year for everyone because he was hurt and didn't get to play.

I attend some of the games at Denham, but I was in Afghanistan during his sophmore year when he did so well. I'll attend some again this fall and provide an update after seeing a few games.

I played against him and he torched our defense but he has some problems staying healthy

LSU isnt exactly desperate for a runningback this class so i dont see him getting that offer unless he stays healthy this year and has a monster year. But what do i know

I think you're on the right path. He would have to make it impossible for the coaches to turn him down similar to Blue 3 years ago to get an offer or we completely strike out OOS and the coaches absolutely want a RB in the class.

I have a friend who know his trainer and from what he says he seem to be coming along with the rehab pretty well. I think he is going to Arkansas this weekend for their second junior day. He does have a Arkansas offer and would hate to see us lose any in state talent. But i guess we will see how he does at camp and how this season goes. But agreed when healthy he is a great talent.

I haven't ever seen Kaleb play in person but after watching his film I really hope things work out for him to be a tiger. I like the way he runs the ball. He is the type of player who will benifit a ton from being in a college weight/condidtioning program. I could see him putting on 15lbs. and being a stud.

Great kid and talent......seen him play numerous times

Durability is a major concern and he needs to stay out of trouble off the field as well.

If he has another year like his Soph year.....which will be tougher with the loss of a few Senior O-Lineman.....he could possibly be tough to let go.

Wishing KB the best!

What kind of trouble is he getting in to off the field?? Maybe going into his senior year he has matured a little bit. Wish him the best as well..

Nobody has seen him a ton in the past year. Kid can't stay healthy. Seems soft to me but certainly has the skill level to play in the SEC.

Having coached against him, he is a good player, but I don't think he is right for LSU. Denham uses a zone running scheme that seems to take advantage of his ability to make 1 cut and be in space. LSU runs more of a power type of offense, relying on their backs to be able to take contact in the hole and fight for extra yardage.

He is a D-1 caliber prospect, but I don't think LSU is going to offer him.

Just because LSU doesn't offer him doesn't mean he isn't a good player.

Great point but not many will take it that way

If he signs with another big school and become a decent to good player you better believe there will be 10 threads like "OMG THE FENCE IS DOWN!!!11!" and "how fdid we miss on this guy?!"

Agree with this sentiment. There are a lot of good players from LA every year that LSU doesn't offer. We can't take them all.

worked their game vs DSHS this past year. broke a 50 or 60 yard run on either the first or second play from scrimmage. Pulled up at ab the 15 and didn't return. Could be a sleeper prospect for some school to get besides LSU if he can stay healthy. Guy who carried the rock behind him was also a solid HS rb
