TT commit may reconsider. via Twitter: "Just talked to Texas Tech commit Kadron Boone. Needless to say, he's in shock right now. Still considering Miami, LSU, S. Car. and others."

I would probably put it:

Dunkley
Boone
Reed

All are slot receiver guys

Yea, I really don't think Fobbs becomes a slot receiver for LSU if he comes. They will put him in the original place they intended and that is CB.

They're only telling him slot to get him to commit, IMO.

Kadron Boone

Don't know much about him. Looks like a good prospect, although it doesn't look like we were ever high on his list before. Although Flordia (poss. Gonzo) was. Top 20 prospect out of Florida.

Would we take him over Wright? How about Fobbs?

He made some very positive statements about LSU and seemed very interested early in the recruiting process. However, he looked elsewhere when it became apparent that he was not high on LSU's list.

No but that is what LSU recruited him as originally. You sell what a kid wants to hear to get him to sign the dotted line. That is how the recruiting game works. I think Fobbs is a great athlete and can make transition to CB smooth.

He didn't like hearing that and was set on WR...so the staff changed their tune.

A lot of guys in Florida think Boone is the best wr in Florida this year.Word is that Miami and USCe are the frontrunners. Also he supposedly doesn't like Gonzales that's why he never strongly considered Florida but may be now.Don't know how true any of that is but that's the word.

here is the exact quote in an article:
quote:

"I've been talking to schools just in case something like this happened because you never know what is going to happen. I've been staying in contact with LSU, Cincinnati, Louisville, Florida, Miami and West Virginia," Boone said. "All I can do is take this in, get home or talk to my parents, get their reaction and go from there. The only thing I can do is sit back, talk to the Tech coaches and talk to my parents."

lots of info on different guys in this article.
also some Hunter evaluation:
quote:

Justin Hunter (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) flashed his immense athletic ability on Day 1 as well. Hunter, 6-3, 180 pounds, showed early on he will be a quality route runner at the next level. He showed a quick first step, sank the hips and got in and out breaks quickly creating separation. What Hunter lacks in strength, he more than makes up for athletically.

Hunter is one of the top track athletes in the country as well with best of 7-foot-2 in the high jump, 26-3 in the long jump and 53-0 in the triple jump. He broke a number of record help by former Florida Gators and current Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin last spring.

here is a different article with similar quotes, some info on his relationship w/Mike Leach and a little more of what he is looking for:

quote:

"I sat down and talked with him a lot and he schemed up the spread, which is really what caught my attention about the program," Boone said. "Now I'm just taking all of this in and I'll sit down with my parents and figure all this out."

Leach was Boone's main recruiter and he's the architect of the Tech spread offense that other coaches are now trying to mimic. The same spread offense that had Boone fired up to become a Red Raider.

sounds like he is looking for a pure spread offense.
