When is the last time that y'all got a kid from Louisiana? I think there might have been a DT from Rummel several years ago (like 2004 or so), but I can't think of anyone since then.

Yea Wells was early 00s then Abdallah out of Metairie in like 05 or so (he was on the 2007 team that played LSU in N.O.).

That's I think literally it.

Brown has said publicly he wants OSU to push for Jacoby Mathews. Who knows where anything goes this early, but would be nice for OSU (for OSU fans at least) to have some inroads at good HS football in LA.

I think LSU might already have their S tandem for 2022, so Mathews could be in play

Jyaire is from Cincinnati so he’s not really a Louisiana kid.

Interesting I just assumed it was way too early to be done with a position, but see according to 247 you have 2 studs from Texas who are rated as top 5 early.

We are 20 months from early signing day 2022 so who knows

Say it loud for the people in the back. The fence builders aren't taking OSU coming into NOLA that well

Absolutely love the guys we have...but as of now, wouldn’t be opposed to keeping Matthews on the line & possibly getting him the fold later down the line depending on position need.

Selfishly would prefer he go to a non-contender/non-NCF playoff team tho

In that same vein...love to see LA kids do well (just not at BAMA lol)

If that was his move, glad he got it out the way now so that we can pursue other/more highly touted (obviously nationwide) prospects more vigorously & not waste time and resources pursuing him

Not that it wasn’t the staff’s approach already anyway
