Is that binding in any way?

Hamilton did not sign a letter of intent, as most recruits do, though the agreement is binding. Most incoming recruits sign both the letter of intent and the financial aid agreement. Not signing the LOI would make it easier for Hamilton to go to another school if he decided against playing at LSU. Furthermore, The financial aid agreement does prohibit Hamilton from receiving any athletic aid from another Southeastern Conference school, for two years if he opted to play elsewhere in the SEC. I am not exactly sure how it works with regards to Hamilton wanting to perhaps switch back to his former School/Conference...

Mid Iowa Tiger has not yet provided any links to this rumor, and even if Hamilton did visit with ISU today, i doubt very seriously that he will now, all of a sudden, switch back to his former school and go back to Iowa State, where he was not at all happy, or he would have never asked for his release in the first place!

I wouldn't worry about these rumor's too much until some kind of formal statement has been made or released by all parties involved,
because in most cases, no news is mostly good news!

I found this on ISU Scouts board....

I just got off the phone with Justin Hamilton and he has decided to stay with his transfer to LSU. He told me that due to his great relationship with Coach Otzelberger that he decided to sit down with him and Coach Hoiberg and he told me that they had a great talk. He said that he thought about it over the last two days and that after giving it a little time that he still felt a most comfortable with transferring to LSU.

He said the coaches were really nice about it and that they respected his decision. He said that he wishes Coach Hoiberg and the team the best and that he'll always being pulling for Iowa State.

I can't fault big Ham for this decision because he did make a commitment to LSU and I think he just ultimately feels that he needs a change. I wish him luck because from day one he worked hard and always played extremely hard. I certainly don't view him as someone who quit on the program.

My Apologies to Mid Iowa Tiger. I had not heard that Hamilton was indeed meeting with the ISU coaching staff. That is why i was asking for a link...

Lsuismyfav...Thanks for the wonderful information!

As i stated in my earlier post, i figured Hamilton would not go back to ISU...

GEAUX JUSTIN AND !!!

Hey jackass I am both a tiger fan and a cyclone fan I was not posting any giddy ISU messages. Ham will be playing for a team I support either way he goes.

The reason he was reconsidering was the coaching change. The previous ISU coach McDermott made playing basketball about as much fun as being waterboarded by a naked Hillary Clinton.

I had not been on TD for a couple of days is why I did not see the request for links. If you want some links I got them.

As far as Hoiberg being a no name coach. Not so much. His name is well known where it needs to be. He will be one of the very few coaches in the NCAA that has made multiple NBA draft day decisions at teh GM level. That is huge to kids who want to be in the league.

Even most former NBA coaches can't claim to know exactly how teams make draft decisions.

That added to the fact that pretty much every GM in the league has a personal friendship with Hoiberg means exposure for players to scouts will not be a problem.

I think this hire will go down as an epic risk that worked out extremely well.

Kevin - wtf is there to feel sorry for? Like I said I support both LSU and ISU that is what happens when you get multiple degrees from multiple universities.

good news, meeting with the new staff was the right thing do to, im sure he's still in class up there. i also agree on hoiberg, it will be tough to win for a couple years but i think he's the kind of guy they need.

blah, blah, blah.

I posted because it was RELAVENT you turd. It was recruiting news. I don't give a damn what you say my reasons were.

I do love both schools and have degrees from both schools and support both schools (in person and financially).

I did not come on here to post shite but to provide a little 411 on someone who can have a bigger impact on LSU's year next year than ISU's. Next season for ISU is probably a throw away year McDermott is leaving the cupboards bare with those declaring for the draft and transfers.

Will I defend the ISU staff? Yeah, because I am friends with Fred from our days in school together. I will tell you this, Fred qualities abot him that most people do not even read about. He will get the ISU program back to national prominence quicker than any coach can.

Trent I would say the jury is still out on. Year before last looked great, but this past year there were tons of people calling for his head.

What happend to Trent is this year is a repeat of last?

I do not think LSU keeps him.

He has, which is really the best situation for him. Playing for McDermott was pretty bad.

A couple of years ago McD had a player who he thought was faking a injury, the team docs and ortho's could not find anything wrong with him and McD pushed him hard and called him out for faking. Turns out the kid had a stress fracture in his foot the everyone missed.

That kid transfered out. He was a stud too - kid by the name of Wesley Johnson.

McD way over corrected after that debacle and set out two sets of rules, one for the team stars like Craig Brackins and one for the rest of the team.

The rest of the team saw right through it and most of them have left.
