Yep, i thought this class would be more surprising than anything..in a down year of talent in La., top 5-7 would be sweeet

If Storm were an official commit.. I would say we have 5-7 all but locked up. We're going to wind up with near fourteen 4* recruits I think.

We might push for top 5 if a player or 2 get lucky bumps.

I was just looking at the team rankings on rivals. (There is none for 2010,btw)

So I started flipping through the team commitments, and I was looking in order of stars to get a guesstimate of what the list might look like when it is released:

-Texas has 16 four stars
-Florida has 10 four stars and one 5 star
-LSU has 8 four stars
-Bama has 7 four stars and one 5 star
-USC has 5 four stars

blah,blah,blah..

..anyway after going thru about ten teams, I click back on LSU's commitment list and I see Jordan Alllen at the top of the list.
I don't really believe it so I re-count and I see LSU has 9 four stars!!! I come here, and there is a JORDAN ALLEN COMMITS thread.

Very nice surprise tonight, needless to say.

Nick Jacobs and Sam Gibson should also get their 4th

also Brandon Worle should get his 4th imo

Wow!! I just checked to see if Dandy Don had posted any of this yet as "late breaking news" and he hadn't, but you need to read his tid bit about recruiting in his update from today.

Just got off the phone with Jordan's cousin. He said he's been a silent commit for a long time.

Well he had told me he was going to take all of his visits before committing so this surprised me. He said, "He did...he's been committed a while." I said that I thought he was going to use his recruitment the way Mingo did. He never answered...

He's good friends with my nephew and he never mentioned any kind of committment although he wanted to commit the last time they were down there. He called my nephew right after he committed this evening to tell him the news so it would surprise me if he had been a silent this whole time. I guess stranger things have happened though.

He's always been all LSU. His facebook was kinda scaring me with how much he loves his girlfriend. Thank God she goes to ULM and not a major program.

Good for Jordan. I'm glad he decided to come on board early. He should be a great prospect for LSU somewhere on the defensive line.

Great pickup, this class is starting to come around. I like the way things are looking. Brick knows the kids he wants and will go after them.
