being that this thread has devolved into a Davis/Collins thread, I will comment on Collins here because I absolutely refuse to start a thread about him. I know Tech already has 3 RB's committed, and ULM will probably go after Abrams from WM. If ULL doesn't make a hard push for this kid they are making a huge mistake. He is a niche player for a bigger school but could be a load carrier in the Sunbelt. And based on film, Rob Walker couldn't sniff this guys jock, assuming he's into that kind of thing.

It really hasn't devolved into that, just one poster keeps pushing Collins for some reason.

I would be surprised if you guys take a chance on JD. He is a phenonmenal football player...a game changer on both sides of the ball. He has an unbelievable shuttle time and forty time (4.37). More importantly...he initiates contact at the same 4.4 speed.
However, Georgia Tech would not take him because of reference checks that did not pan out. Apparently he has some serious sportsmanship and off-field attitude issues. This is the same reason that South Carolina backed off.

I do not have links....I have seen him play (got three unsportsmanlike conducts in one game I saw)...and I have friends that coach high school football in metro Atlanta...the coaching community is tight.
He went to a private Catholic school (St. Pius) prior to going to Tucker..he was asked to leave St. Pius.

I haven't followed this kid at all, but surely some of his "history" has shown up somewhere in print?

Very rarely see things like this in print about kids that are minors. Atlanta is a big city...it is not like some small rural town where Aunt Emma visiting town makes the paper!
If you want to see the on field stuff...just find some tapes of the Tucker games. You can also go back and track his career through multiple schools.
This has been discussed on other boards...including high school boards in Georgia where coaches tell all.
If you don't believe...I really do not care.

You gotta give me more than that (unsportsman-like fouls?) to throw a kid off the bus.
But then again, I'm not in charge of recruiting and haven't seen anything about his character issues.
Personally, I like my linebackers a little mean anyway...

It won't matter because it doesn't look like we are going to offer.

Just hope he doesn't end up at an SEC school!

yea, but the thing that shocks me though is the fact that he is 5'7 as a LB.
The late, great Sam Mills was listed as 5'8", only because they didn't have the heart to put a more accurate, 5'6" 1/2 or 5'7". IF there was/is a better ILB in the 3-4, I'd like to know who it was/is.
It's not the size of the tiger in the fight, but the size of the fight in the tiger.
