Who's gone? Surtain? I was over that 2 minutes after it happened. I'm not one to freak out over one out-of-state recruit. I remember the 2-5 and am damn glad it turned out that way. Not saying Surtain will be the same as that was, but LSU will not fold and go away because of one recruit.

we aren't what we once were

We are not what we have been recently, but are going back to the days when LSU had great D-lines which made the whole defense better.

The difference will be the O-line will now be on par with the D-line as will the QB position. The O-line will make the whole offense seem better just like the D-line will be for their side.

This argument will not be resolved until O is gone and the program is left in 1990’s shambles. It is the shambles that experienced fans seek to avoid. It is that simple.

Experienced fans that actually remember the 1990's teams did not have Dave Aranda.

They remember the coaching staff did not have two coaches that wear super bowl rings.

They remember that the ONE PLAYER who is credited with starting the turnaround is now a three-super-bowl-ring wearing member of the administrative staff.

If you think having the best D and O lines the team has had in a long time will leave the team in shambles you just have never followed football at all.

Sure. Here's a link from his time at Tennessee where he had Janzen Jackson hide his commitment until signing day:

LINK

So you accuse Eaux of dirty recruiting. Then when I ask for proof you post a link to an article that says this:
quote:

Following the completion of last season, LSU football coach Les Miles reached out to current Tennessee defensive line coach Ed Orgeron in hopes of luring him to the Tigers' coaching staff. One of Miles' primary reasons for contacting Orgeron was because of his ability to recruit in his home state of Louisiana.Orgeron flexed his recruiting muscles today when five-star defensive back Janzen Jackson decommitted from LSU and signed a national letter of intent with Tennessee
quote:

Jackson said being a cornerback in Monte Kiffin's famous "Tampa-Two" defense, which showcases cornerbacks, was also a deciding factor in his decision."Monte Kiffin was the difference

Why would Eaux have him not tell LSU. That sounds more like Kiffen bullshite. Or maybe it was on the kid for doing it. That article does not support your agument, actually it does quite the opposite.

You provide evidence that what you said "had him hide his commitment" was just more made up bullshite. You are funny !!!!

I don't know if it did or not.

Did Isaiah specifically say he went there because Pete Jenkins was going to retire?

Right, but when your DC and OC constantly leaves for other jobs it points to stability, right? Cause that s what's happened at Bama

Orgeron made his own self subject to this kind of scrutiny.

By getting rid of an OC that nobody on staff could stand? He is not the first to fire a coordinator and won't be the last.

If he doesnt want people negatively recruiting staff instability, promote more stability within your staff

Some people complain because he is hiring people he knows and has worked with in the past - coaches who happen to be good at their jobs. But you think this is not promoting stability within his staff? Is that what you are saying?

Another team's coach: Hey recruit, you know the O-line coach they hired over there? The guy who coached with the HC at UT and USC before going to the pros and winning a super bowl ring and then going to work for him again? Yeah, that is instability right there, you need to come here.

The schedule has nothing to do with what was the team's best D-lineman last year being the 2nd best this year. It has nothing to do with Chaisson being in his second season after starting quite a few games last year.

The schedule has nothing to do with Devin White retuning after getting the first start of his career last year.

The schedule has nothing to do with the other LB's - Phillips, Taylor, Divinty returning.

The schedule has nothing to do with Greedy returning after getting the first start of his career last year.

Why would I have to get back to you after next season to let you know that what you mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with anything I said.

It’s almost inconceivable how bad LSU has been with the entire situation regarding the head football coach. We are literally paying Les Miles more money to not coach our football team than we are paying Ed f’ng Orgeron to actually coach it. How do you even get to that point? I am not defending Miles here, He needed to go. I am saying the whole thing has been a shite show and our program honestly feels like we are headed back to good ol boy curley hallman type crap that destroyed lsu football for a generation. The hires do not bother me nearly as much as the inadequate due dilligence with the hiring processes.

Anybody with half a brain knows this program is unstable as hell. It’s not a hard story to pass off.

Mathis specifically did. Highly doubt they didn't use the same tact with Buggs. They're going to use it again in this cycle with Sullivan. "Mickey doesn't know what he's doing, Sullivan's the real WR coach, he's going to retire while you're in college".

Mathis used Jenkins as the excuse to go to Bama. Buggs straight up got a car out of the deal, 100% fact.

Mathis specifically did

No he didn't. He never mentioned Jenkins retiring as a reason he went to Bama.

"Some reporters, he said, wrote that he never met with Jenkins while on any recruiting trip. That ticked him off because it wasn’t true.

“That was a lie right there,” Mathis told SEC Country. “I never said that.

“I guess they got me wrong. What I meant was I just felt like he didn’t recruit me as well as (Alabama defensive line) Coach (Karl) Dunbar did. Coach Dunbar was just around more. I know Coach Jenkins became the defensive line coach kind of late, but I just felt like if he was going to coach me, I just needed to talk to him more.”"

Alabama DT signee Phidarian Mathis clarifies comments about LSU DL coach Pete Jenkins
quote:

Multiple LSU sources were adamant Mathis met with Jenkins on his visits to campus and he had the assistant coach’s phone number. But because the 75-year-old Jenkins is not designated as an off-campus recruiter on the staff, any phone contact between the two had to be initiated by the recruit.

His play-calling at USC was atrocious and it's a big reason he got fired. He's a good coach and recruiter, but he's not one of the best. We need someone better than Kiffen when replacing Orgeron

Or

Another teams coach: Look at that hack at LSU. He’ll be all rah rah in your parents bedroom but it’s just a matter of time before he tanks that program. Look at his record at Ole Miss. look how he just pushed out his OC and hired a TE coach.
