How "legit" is the report by OM "folks" that he is announcing on The Square today?

That's not the report.

The plan has been and still is (as far as I can tell) for him to announce live on the radio from Irie, a bar on the Square, next Monday.

He's been getting a shitload of attention since his Jr. year of high school. You personally just now started noticing him because LSU's in the mix.

Rivals #8 pro-style quarterback, JJ? Is that who you're talking about?

From another one of your threads:
quote:

Dual threat qb = strong arm but no accuracy, can't read defenses, would rather run than throw, no throwing technique = no qb

Ever heard of a guy called Robert Griffin III, who was the 4th ranked dual threat qb? How about Cam Newton? Rick Stanzi? Jake Locker? Zac Robinson? Chase Daniel? Case McCoy? Teddy Bridgewater? Tim Tebow?

Yeah, all those guys sucked.

God I hate it when the rant overflows to the RB!!!

Rumor Central Control

Exactly. The host of the radio show on which Liggins is set to announce is saying that the rumors about this whole "phone announcement" thing are unfounded.

ETA: At least, as of now. If we'll see if something changes.

Das right!
He'd be a good pickup and we'd be lucky to get him.

JJ was NOT a dual threat QB.

Well, being that you're still alive it appears that you either won your duel or whichever QB threatened/challenged you to a duel never followed through on that threat. Congratulations and good luck in future duels. Aaron Burr would be proud.

[T]his recruit is getting a whole lot more attention since LSU entered the mix is an empirical statement - more people are paying attention to this guy. If you fail to understand that, not my problem, ma'am...

Don't care about his 40, just his ACT score and leadership abilities. And after the past few years, a lack of duel-threat QBs on roster isn't a concern.

After watching video of Liggins, my concern is that he is a zero threat QB. He operated a simplistic running offense in high school in which he handed off to his RB's more oftentimes than not. At his size, Liggins may have been somewhat elusive at the high school level, but he is nowhere close to being mobile enough to be a running threat as a QB in the SEC. When Liggins passes, he does not show a particularly strong or accurate arm. IMO, Liggins will never see the field at LSU if LSU keeps him at QB. His only hope to contribute is to get moved to another position.

I agree with this totally. He would be dumb to go to LSU as a QB. I could see him as being a decent qb at state under Mullen's system, but I really just want him because of the potential if he switches positions. That and I would love to see the meltdown in oxford after he announced his decision to state on their radio show. Also he would help us round out one of our best classes ever, especially if we can get richie brown and beniquez brown. I would shite my pants. I'm sure he will give into the pressure and stay in oxford but he keeps hinting that he doesn't want to. They've already signed a billion qb's, and state and lsu are both in need of one. And Ole Miss barely has a recruiting class.
