Then I think the footage posted is overinflated because no way is he over 250 in those highlights.

It's senior footage so maybe he has put on some more weight in the offseason?

Don't want to be negative FACT is blackmon is no good and we missed out on copeland! I wish it would have worked out for copeland we just recruited him too late!! Copeland would have been a force for the tigers IMO!!

His film really does look like Powell. Probably not quite as explosive, but very reminiscent in terms of burst off the ball and fluidity

Agreed. Powell is one of the best pure athletes, especially in a big frame, to come through the recruiting ranks in a few years. Just to be compared to him puts you in elite company.

uses his hands well to get off blockers
thats what stands out most to me looking past the penetration he gets.

I know his film is good and all but someone should at least TRY and block him.

It honestly looks like they were playing for the wrong team because he is in the backfield instantly.

I always assume those figures to be inflated...I don't know...haven't ever seen the kid in person.

i'm interested in knowing his real weight. he looks so thick in pictures, like he might not have room for that much more weight. as it stands now he'd be kind of small for a DT. he's definitely got the burst and agility to play on the outside if he could learn some pass rush moves out there. there are actually a lot of guys in the league who are doing really well playing DE with his body type right now.

How did the services not rate this kid higher? He is a lock top 50 player in the country.

He's about the same size as Josh Downs was coming out...

I would take him in a heartbeat. Screw all other schools and lack of offers. This kid doesn't look blocked cause he's that quick, and plays with a low pad level. Hands are next-level.

It's definitely his quickness that is allowing him to beat people, not the competition.

Watch this video from the UT camp at the 2:30 mark:
LINK

He is still beating UT recruits just as easily
