At best we have talent to finish 7-9 in SEC next year...and that's with a healthy squad all season. A key injury to an O'Bryant or Turner and you can forget even that.
7-9 or worse... and losing top 2 in state recruits = walking papers IMO.

As a general benchmark, I'd agree with that.

The only problem that I had with your original quote is that you said that he would go to Texas "no matter what". If Duke or Carolina would have come down and offered, Felix would be a fool not to jump on that bandwagon.
But that's semantics. In the end, you definitely called it.

don't understand how Rick fricking Barnes gets so many good players
I mean yeah its Texas but damn. That guy is the definition of mediocre when it comes to coaching.

Serious question and not just a Trent criticism: Who's the last St. Aug player to sign with LSU basketball? Have we ever even had one?
bigger quetion is who is the last African American player from any school in New Orleans to sign a basketball scholarship with LSU. This ahs been a pervasive problem for every coach including Dale Brown.

tim shaw or whatever his name was that came from shaw.

He gets his players to the league. That is the most important thing to almost every recruit.

He has won at Clemson as well.
And I guess no one in the Big 12 (outside of KU and OU (in some years)) has really challenged him.

That is pretty much it.
While we may have not needed guys like Shan Foster or Deron Washington, here are some other NOLA guys that left the state:
Danny Granger
Chris Duhon
Dwight Lewis
Tweety Carter
DJ Augustin
Greg Monroe
Another thing to address is that there has been some talent in Alexandria that has left the state.
Terrence Henry
Marcus Simmons
Markel Brown
All of this was with Butch Pierre as LSU assistant for 9 years.
Most of our best talent that LSU has had recently has come from the BR area. Outside of the 2010 class there has been nothing in BR since that 2005 recruiting class. That does of course change with Bridgewater.

People want to hammer TJ or whomever is the LSU HC, but the PMAC Atmosphere(aka LSU Fan or lack there of), and the current state of affairs to SEC Hoops for all sans an even erratic UK and Fla..
Makes for Texas playing Kan, K St, Okla, Okie St, Bay,etc..in packed arenas..more attractive to elite ballers..
Same with Big East, ACC, and Big-10.
SEC Hoops fan are voting with their feet....lotsa empty seats across the league..and elite recruits are noticing!

According to Scout, Rivals, and ESPN the SEC had more top 25 recruiting classes than the BIG XII last year.

I believe Markel Brown was recruited by Butch to Oklahoma State. Butch left LSU in 2008 and Brown was in the class of 2010 I believe.
LSU signed Storm Warren over Terrance Henry and their career stats seem to state that was teh right choice.
You can't sign them all every year due to scholarship limitations.
