Disappointing, but another opportunity for somebody else to step up. We will do fine without him.
Having Loston makes me feel a bit better, but I still think the way some of these kids (and their daddies, yes that includes you Emmitt Randle), sucks big time.

Good

With the way him and his father handled everything , heading to UT with those clowns running the show is fitting.

a) Jackson has been committed to LSU for a year. We understand that we will lose recruits from time to time but to wait until NSD or after where the school can't move on is bush league

b) Miles has a rule of no visits after committing which he broke for Jackson. Jackson could've been a man and told Miles he was considering TN so we could move on and look for another DB.

c) Jackson was injured this year late season and LSU stuck by our scholarship offer.

The whole decision process by Jackson is poor. It's not poor that he chose TN, good for him. It's how he handled the process.

Has Benton even qualified fully yet after 2 or 3 years?

I don't care that he decied to go to Tennersee, it the fact of the lying about being committed to us for a year and then you pull some shady like this.

Don't tell me how I should feel or what I should say and what I shouldn't. If you don't want to see people upset or "trashing" this kid, then don't read it. Take your arse to another board that likes to blow sunshine up each other arse.

We're competing with Coach O and Saban now, both of whom have strong ties to Louisiana high school coaches.

some truth here

Now both are taking kids LSU wanted. thank God we have some strength in the Houston area.

and many of the high profile in-state guys have not had the love for LSU in the last few years... Janzen, McKnight and even Reuben Randle, who even himself said he did not grow up an LSU fan and could have very easily have bolted to somewhere else

he did it on purpose. he knew he was going to choose TN all along...he is laughing about it now. he knows he played us and he did it on purpose. if thats how he wants to be we dont need him.

Benton had 2 fricking chances BEFORE this yeasr to get his shite together and he didn't. We can't keep waiting forever and losing out on top talent while you struggle to get your shite together.

It's a completely different situation and you're retarded if you can't see that.

Kid has a facebook page...LSU fans should let him know just what they think of his classless backstabbing maneuver.

I would have no problems with him going to TN or anywhere if he and his family had handled it differently.

I am, well, not happy about it, but it is his life. Tigerbait!

He did do wrong by LSU for sure, but we did pull in other dbs, so it will be ok I think.

This is hilarious. A 17 year old kid decides to do what's best for him and his family's future, but its not what you wanted him to do, so you trash him. Get a life man, he's in fricking HS. Go worry about taking care of your own shite and quit running someone else in the ground.

I disagree. There is no problem going somewhere else. The problem is telling everyone you're doing one thing and then pulling a stunt the day after NSD. It's a low class move. I don't care if you're 17 or 77, you need to be honest and up-front with people.

That may be. But i do kinda agree with him on his point. LSU pulled a kid's schollie at the last minute so we could get one of the best players in the country.

Then, i tried to look at it from Miles standpoint. After the whole McKnight debacle, i think Miles didn't want to let another top profile LA recruit out of the state. He couldn't let that happen again. People would start saying that he can't keep the fence up around LA. And what if Benton doesn't get cleared by the NCAA?? You let the #1 player in the country go to Bama for what?? Bird in the hand.

I agreed with Miles' decision.

However, i do think something is not right/shady with JJ's decision.

Hopefully Miles will learn from this. He needs to start taking the Saban policy. Just recruit everybody. I'm sure one day it will be a rule that you can't have more than your allotment committed. It will be another rule attributed to Saban and Nutt. Just recruit everybody and oversign.
