I've been reading up on him and he seems like a can't miss prospect that could play both ways. My question is(if there is anybody in the know) is he already a Texas lock?

He's been an LSU lean for a while. Tigerbait has done several updates on him over the past several months.

“If I could get an offer from LSU or UT I’d commit on the spot,” said Haynes. - Per Orangebloods

Forty: 4.36 secs
Shuttle: 4.37 secs

His forty and shuttle times have only a one-hundredth of a sec difference? Bet it's not accurate.

After the U.S. Army National Combine:
quote:

The West-Orange Stark junior measured in at 6-foot, 181-pounds. During the morning testing period, Haynes ran one of the best times of the day with an unofficial 4.53, 40-yard dash.

That being said, I don't think anyone ran a sub-4.5 and that included Lache, Dyer, Ambles, and Corvin Lamb.

Seems like an outstanding prospect. Reel him in Les!
