I think the rushing yards is a mistake anyway. He had over 400 yds as a soph.

I'm not sure if the rushing stat is accurate or not, but Jake ran the ball a lot less in his junior year. They also ran a play where there would be a direct snap to the RB, and Jake would pretend the ball went over his head, a few times when they ran that play the RB didn't get the right call and the snap went right through and Jake ran back to cover it. He probably lost 50-60 rushing yards from those plays. Whenever he scrambles he is almost always looking to throw, and doesn't start running until he really has to.

And as for LSU being on Jake's list of schools, I can tell you that he is really interested in every school on his list. If any of the schools on his list didn't have a chance, he wouldn't put them there. Also when he visited UT, he said that the distance wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, so that helps out LSU as well as distance is no longer really a factor.

sweet, already an early insider for recruiting next year. Welcome aboard skyline and enjoy the board but prepare yourself for some craziness!

How well do you know Jake?

I graduated last year, he was sort of a friend of a friend, no real connection though.

Still believe he will end up at BYU or UDub. LSU being in the top five is a PR coup however.

He'll sign with UDUB,but its nice to get the national attention on a highly sought after recruit from Washington.

Tennessee fans feel they will land him....

they think they will land them all

I expect their recruiting to be at a very high level...but can they (kiffen and co.) coach/motivate/manage a big program?

I guess he isn't too worried about LSU's depth at QB. Of the 5 schools he listed, he has a better chance of making it to the NFL with LSU, Tennessee, or Cal.

hopefully he's got tickets to watch us destroy Washington in the season opener
I think that could be the one real factors in our favor- He gets to see LSU in his own backyard. But I agree with most, I just don't see him coming to Baton Rouge.

Honestly, I think LSU can get a better qb for your system. I don't know why some teams hype this guy so much.

Rivals250 quarterback Jake Heaps out of Skyline High School in Washington has numerous college options to continue his career, and one of the programs he is seriously considering is the University of Alabama.

Bama isnt even in his top 5.

If they wanted to highlight the scope of his nation wide recruiting offers, would it have hurt rivils to name....oh I dont know.....LSU!?. A school in his top 5?

Tigers might not get Heap but they definitely should take a look at Heap's favorite receiver.

That would be upcoming junior WR Kasen Williams. He appears to be an inch or two taller than Heaps. Don't know if he's listed on the 2011 recruiting boards yet --- but he should be.
