Is there still interest or an offer out for the Center from Cincinnati? I can’t tell if we are aggressively pursuing him. All indications are he has NFL potential.

Not true. It’s us or Wisconsin. He’s very interested and supposedly working on a visit soon

If we need another cornerback, Mel Renfro is still around. Though at 80, he may have lost a step.

Not saying he is in fact coming, he could very well go to Wisky but it's not a foregone conclusion. He's got ties to both programs.

No no no… you want to crumble all the buy in from the players? Well the way to do that is bring in people to replace your starters… no no no

So let’s just let the other team push our center into our backfield every play. Is he serviceable yes. Is he elite no.

Don’t kid yourself. These kids will declare and sit out a bowl game at the first hint of a mid round draft grade, or bolt for TCU if they don’t start by their Soph season. Build a winning program, draw in the best players and process the rest. Bama has been doing it forever.

Every position on the team should be up for grabs every spring… that’s how you keep guys bought in ( and I’m not talking about the transfer portal)

The point is to put the best players on the field possible. If the staff is looking to bring in a player at a position, it's generally because the guys there currently aren't good enough. If we can bring in a guy that's an upgrade we should do it everytime. Buy in only goes so far(frick coddling these babies). The coaches job is to win games and prepare kids for the league. Holding a spot for them when a better alternative is available achieves neither of those things. May the best man win.
