Is Walker Howard better than his dad was as a HS Sr? How does he compare to Arch Manning?

quote:Well he's the 4th ranked qb in America and was #1 at one point. I'd say yes but was too young to watch his dad.

Yes, Jamey could not run like Walker.

Never seen Walker Howard play.
Can say Jaimie was a superior athlete who could run well. He was effective when he scrambled. His arm talent allowed him to make every throw, so no need to run much.
If Walker Howard runs better than Jaimie then you have to be excited for his potential.

He is not better than to 2 qbs they have currently

I’ve seen both play. Both were/are blue chip, nationally coveted QBs with a rifle arm and athleticism. It’s a wash.

Jaimie was super fast. He was on the 4x100 in track, I'm almost certain. That's back when people actually ran track

Jamie was also a second round pick of the Atlanta Braves and was given first round money to play baseball in summer in the minors. He was also a special talent.

If you want to see an example of Jamie’s athleticism, just Google any passing play from the Hallman era. Dude had to sprint as soon as the ball was snapped. Every snap.

Anyone else feel that Jamie being Walker's dad suppresses the expectation level? All things being even if there was no prior association of the Walker family and LSU then Walker would be Brock Berlin status as a recruit around here.
Damn you Curly.
Damn you Curly.

Walker is pretty damn good, would be surprised if he was significantly better than Nuss though.

He's bigger, stronger, faster, and has a stronger arm (which is saying something).
Walker Howard is the best QB prospect in America and I will go to war with that opinion.

With his arm talent in baseball, yes.
He was in NO WAY a great running player.
Walker is far and away a superior runner compared to his father, including running track.
It's a different age, but by all measures physically, he's better than his dad. Including touch and pure passing.
Again, yo get to this point, he grew up being trained by Jamie
, Hodson, J Delhomme, etc....and then of course every top camp you can imagine.
Walker, did everything thus year with very very average recivers. When he has really special recivers, he becomes an unlimited talent. He'll have those recivers in college.
Jamie was a generational athlete though. The man played qb for LSU and was signed as a pitcher for the Braves, who at the time, had the best staff ever assembled in MLB

Imho look at this years play offs , walker had a huge night and win ,,,while in a loss Arc looked off in a low scoring game, i would have to say one is mobile while the other one has great skills but depends on a great offensive line , if hes smart he will go to bams

They won 37-6 against a higher seed on the road. They will lose Friday to LCA though.
