Is LSU in the best geographical location in the country?

Obviously Louisiana produces a lot of talent and LSU doesnt have any other in state powerhouses to compete with.
We are also right next to Texas, and are reasonably close to pretty much every state state in the south ie the region with the best and most talent.
Can any other school say they have a better advantage geographically?

Alabama also produces a lot of talent, but is closer to Florida and Georgia than we are.

UCLA, TCU, FSU have arguments.
UCLA - the 'LA' part tells it all. Most appealing city in the country to a HS kid probably.
TCU is in the best city in the best state for high school football.
FSU is in the second-best state for football, and they're far north enough to really appeal to the deep south states that produce so much talent - Alabama, Georgia, maybe occasionally Louisiana and Mississippi.

Texas - Because being in the heart of TX helps them dominate this state in recruiting.

I respectfully disagree, I think Miami is way more appealing

I think the Alabama schools are in the best location. Alabama,Georgia and Florida are loaded with talent. They're also centrally located in the southest to allow them to be next door to Mississippi, and close enough to North Carolina and South Carolina(2 of the most underrated states for talent in the country) to get kids. Also close enough to Virginia and Maryland to be able to get kids every now and then. They also are close enough to sneak into LA some.
LSU has the greatest recruiting advantage(along with Ohio St) in the country because we're the only major in a high producing state. Being next to Texas is an advantage and one quite frankly I think we don't take full advantage of.

Tulane will end this advantage.

Recruiting is why I wish we added VaTech instead of Mizzou (I like Mizzou for family reasons). I wanted to put that Tidewater area in SEC country. Adding Houston (and Dallas to a much lesser extent) and Tidewater, VA to the SEC footprint would have put just about every fertile, athlete-producing area in the country in an attainable place for the top tier SEC teams.

Lsu is in a great spot being the lone relevant school in the state as well as being close to west TX, Miss, Bama, ATL and parts of Florida. You cant ask for a better situation IMO

FSU, UF, and Texas are all up there.

LSU is the only school in Louisiana worth a damn....unlike the MS, AL, GA or FL schools..........HUGE advantage
LSU is tucked in neatly beside Texas......Houston is super close...........Huge advantage
LSU is close to the Southern Mississippi cities. Good advantage
LSU plays Florida every year.....good advantage.
Louisiana has terrific talent.....Huge advantage.
Appealing city of New Orleans for entertainment purposes........Dunno, but put that in there.
Places that we could fare better due to geography.....Memphis, The State of Arkansas (their coach is a supreme bitch by the way), St Louis, Kansas City.
All up north of BR.....but would like to see more from Arky....there is always a great talent like Keihl Frasier, Darious Winston, Ziemba, Matt Hall. Etc.
I only remember a fullback or lb from Arky, but cannot remember his name...White feller.

quick, name the last player besides Jeremy Maclin from either of these metro areas that would be an impact player in the SEC.

KC. But yeah, evidence against my point, but not much. Traditionally KC guys go to Mizzou or Nebraska and STL guys go to Mizzou or Big Ten schools. (obviously before Neb was Big Ten). Laurence Maroney might be the biggest impact guy from STL metro recently before Maclin. And Blaine Gabbert, who went to HS with my cousin.

Baton rouge is a dump, i would say a lot of schools have a better advantage. Also Louisiana is a small state.
If you talking about talent in state, then look at a school like UGA. Huge population, only one other fbs school in the state. They should be a contender every year.
I just want to add, you cant field a complete football team with LA talent alone. We produce more talent per capita yes, but we have a low population. Fill this team with all LA talent, and i bet we wont even compete for the west. We were lucky last year. We lucked out again this year with all the lbs in state. Rest is way down though.
