Is Dwight better than Burns and Johnson?

We basically told Burns and L Johnson to look around after being committed to us. If Dwight commits today, as a cornerback prospect is he better than these 2?

If he's not or a project I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around why we told those 2 to kick rocks.

I'm asking this not to be condescending but to truly understand their game and how it will translate.

I wouldn't know, got any good highlights of him? Some these other die hard fans that know more may be able to say some valuable info. But it would sure be good to have another cb and another rb in this class

They literally were creating room for 4 5 stars ( Burch, Evans, and the two WR) who didn’t come to fruition. You have to make room for players like that - if they flip on you at the last minute, that sucks, but you have to take that chance. It wasn’t a CB for CB trade.

Thought they had Burch, Evans, Burton and Jarrett. Asked Burns to wait until Feb. more than likely. They wanted best 25, not necessarily first 25. It bit them here, as Burns is much better. But I think it was worth the risk.

Respectfully disagree. I think LSU wanted more than one CB the whole cycle.

To respond to another posted, McGlothern is a former 5 star who was also a WR in high school. I think he’s a much better athlete than Burns.

It’s crazy

The USC board is ripping Clay Helton for letting O and LSU sweep in last minute to scoop McGlothern away

Meanwhile, the LSU board is scratching their collective heads offering McGlothern this late in the process.

The tale of two separate programs going in two very opposite directions.

yeah basically this class is supposed to be close to full, but it didn't work out that way so now we have all kinds of room. Some decisions I understood and some not so much. I wouldn't want the stress the coaches have to deal with and these lying arse kids

It was a legitimate question.

Unfortunately legitimate discussions are a dime a dozen on boards because everyone gets so emotional and thinks you're attacking "x,y,z". I'm a huge fan and alumnus of LSU and was just curious if anyone could provide any context on the situation.

It's my understanding Lorando is still out there and hasn't committed? So I assume they think Dwight will be a better cornerback prospect.

I hope we do get McGlothern. The kid can play, and we have always done a very good job of developing tall corners that can run. Hope he commits to the good guys!

Didn’t say it wasn’t, boss. I know I can’t sit here and tell you who is better. I only go by recruiting rankings. Star gazing and shite.

I was just pointing out that USC fans really wanted McGlothern. While he appears to be a Major backup plan for LSU. And how crazy far apart the two programs are.

He’s a better athlete with a higher ceiling because of that so it would be a great pickup as far as “backup plans” go

It’s a flawed premise. At no point were the coaches saying “do we trade this CB for that CB” we asked them to wait so that we could see what the 5 star guys would do. It hurt their feelings to be asked to wait. Now we have unexpected openings.

We're still waiting to see of lorando can get over the grades problem from what I understand. He may still be a take if he does. Probably asked Burns to wait until February to save room for five stars and he wouldn't and went to Georgia.

The staff may or may not think Dwight is better than Johnson. But if Dwight is ready to commit, and Johnson isn’t, they may feel they’re close enough as prospects to take the guy who wants in now.

Johnson is already committed. The staff told him he needed to wait until February to sign. So far, it appears he's doing that. He announced he was opening his recruitment up but clarified he wasn't decommitting.
