Yes strong ties to California and Florida . He was starting to bring in 4 stars from those states

Doesn't matter if we keep our current assistants. Everyone is saying he is a players coach so he shouldn't be too bad of a recruiter.

So I will ask the question could any possible recruits follow him to LSU?

I'm guessing he recruits well based on his record & being a very high energy type person. I definitely believe that any recruits sitting on the fence will be thrilled with his hiring & he will be able to solidify the defensive class.

Well it kinda does matter if we keep some of our most valuable assistants

If Steele could recruit like he did here, anyone can.

He looks like a solid hire especially considering the Badgers success defensively with mostly 3 star recruits. I know stars don't tell the whole story coming out of HS but 247 shows the Badgers with only 4 recruits with 4 stars between 2013-2015. 1 of those 4 stars was listed as a defensive player.

I learned my lesson with Saban.
Coming from Big10 country and having to recruit to a down LSU team I was worried. He wasn't setting the world on fire at MSU, but there were glimpses of some very bright flames. Especially with what he was doing with ND, MI, and tOSU "left overs".
Flash forward to Aranda. This time I think I'll not make assumptions. With Frank Wilson as RCoord and BDP/CoachO there too (and of course CLM) I'm actually expecting him to surpass any worries by a country mile.
At least he's not 61yrs old and an old friend of Miles.

His first task after NSD needs to be getting us back in Dylan Moses' top 5!

Not Ed O, BDP, or Raymond level, but he's a very solid recruiter. He could turn out to be better then solid because he's always kind of been handcuffed by the programs he's been at. You just aren't gonna get 5 stars to Hawai'i, Utah State, or Wisconsin. He is supposed to be an incredible talent evaluator though. That's just as big as being able to land kids IMO. Players love him too.

" incredible talent evaluator"
Very, very important. Now he gets to "sift" thru 4 and 5 stars. Can't wait.
