My son is a rising junior and likely will get some attention this summer and next year. I've been contacted by a company named "Next College Student Athlete" about their database and recruiting services.

Anyone deal with these folks? Any feedback?

What about other resources or advice for parents starting this process?

TIA

Well before anyone answers your question. Will he be attending LSU?

Entirely up to him. He wants to but we're just getting started.

Don’t give them your money. Just a scam and very little to show for it, they are just trying to get a piece of the pie that is recruiting these days.

I would agree with the comment above me. What position is he?

They supposedly have a database but I don't plan on paying for their upsells.

I can’t speak for this specific company, but I would be extremely wary as there are a lot of predatory companies/individuals out there looking to make a quick buck off of you.

Avoid them. Go to camps, send out footage to the to different programs, and bust arse during season.

This times 100. I wouldn't pay for anything. Plenty of platforms to showcase from.

Go to camps. Get his footage out there and if he preforms at various camps then he’ll be on the radar.

Thanks to all for the feedback.

Both lines will go to the Nicholls line camp, and I hope he gets noticed there. He's 6-7, about 330.

shite if hes 6-7 330 and has remotely good footwork than you will have plenty of programs finding you. Get him to a camp and the rest will take care of itself.

At that size, and if he's rising as you say, he's gonna get noticed at camps without you having to fork money over to the vultures.

Just please, please tell him to curb stomp the evil midget from Tuscaloosa when he comes calling

I thought those type of companies were primarily for Olympic-type sports? They can be a useful tool for both prospects and coaches in sports with lesser budgets and visibility.

I don’t see the need for such a service for D1 football recruits. They might be a good resource for an opportunity at the DII or DIII level.
