If Your Son Got an LSU Offer- How'd You Feel

I am a lifelong LSU fan and my son is 8 years old right now. i was born and raised in Lake Charles and Lafayette. He was born and being raised in Georgia, but has taken on my diehard Tiger fandom. He started playing football last year and has already let it be known that he wants to be a Tiger one day.

"I remember when LSU only took the best in the country."

mine's 9 and a QB, I'd do everything to convince him that it was a road that could lead to the governorship of La. someday.

Mine told me the other day that he wants to be used like Corey Webster and Skyler Green, meaning he wants to play both ways. He wants to wear #2 like Shyrone Carey and he won't waste time doing the hat thing on National Signing Day. He'll have 3 LSU hats on the table, one white, one purple, and one gold.

sounds like your raising him right

I took him to his first LSU game at the Chick Fil A Bowl on New Year's Eve. He was officially hooked that night. If he goes to LSU, my wife and I are buying land in Breaux Bridge to be near.

about 200K dollars richer!
to have a son or daughter play for LSU in any sport would not only be a source of mondo pride, but a validation that the wifey and me got it right. we live in hope with a steady plan. Geaux.

i try to downplay the significance of it, but the thought of it is gratifying.

webster barely played any offense and skyler never played defense.

you know what i mean. he plays cornerback and wide receiver in little league football and he wants to play both positions in college.

my son is two and a half, but he already knows LSU, he knows who mike the tiger is, and if he sees purple or gold he automatically thinks LSU. He said he wants to play football, baseball, and tennis at LSU. he has a cousin who plays tennis. I am bringin him to the spring game. he has never been to tiger stadium. he will probably committ that day.

Iv would want to meet with the LSU offensive or defensive coordinator depending on which side of the ball my son wanted to play.

Oh wow. My son is 7 and playing PW football now in Austin, TX. His favorite players are Jacob Hester and Craig Steltz. From the time he was five he could name the starting roster for the Tigers and what position they play. He even keeps up with what NFL teams they go to. He told me when he grows up he will play for the Tigers and then wants to play for the Saints. Now I know the chances of that are slim but if only the first one came to pass, I would be ecstatic. As long as he doesn't pick the Longhorns. He is playing Safety right now and he's already one of the most aggressive on the team. We're off to a good start. I really couldn't describe the emotion I would feel if he was offered to be a Tiger.

G Payne, your enthusiasm sound like mine. My boy played Cornerback last year and I will be the defensive coordinator on this year's team. I'm moving him to Safety. He wanted to be like Janzen Jackson, that is until 3 weeks ago. We live 45 minutes from UGA and he absolutely has a disdain for the Bulldogs.

your son is 8 years old and follows recruiting?
Posted on 2/20/09 at 9:27 am to iwyLSUiwy
yeah he follows it. he knows how to use my log on id to get on rivals. i am a member of the media and was provided a free rivals account and he knows how to access it. he loved the Janzen Jackson highlight package.

I really hope the whole hat thing is gone by the time that happens. I would like him to handle it like RS. Make a decision and be excited about it and tell the world why LSU is the greatest school out there.
