I think the problem had more to do with coaching than ability. You can hire the best candidates in the US and still not have a successful company if they are managed poorly. Moral, purpose, common goals and great leadership are things that build success, and they very much come from the top.

They have to go into the portal and get at least 3 experienced starters. This offensive line is clearly the worst LSU in my boomer lifetime. None of the LSU starters except maybe the center have earned anywhere close to the NIL they were getting. Our season was crippled by their play whether it be execution or coaching ( probably both).

Chester and Mubenga are 100% ability problems being in their 3rd seasons and still sucking. Poor evals.

Davis was one of the worst Olinemen in the SEC this year. First year really playing as a RS Fr, but there didnt look to be much promise in him. He just got completely owned over and over and over this season (9 penalties; THIRTY total QB pressures allowed; double the next worst on our Oline). It was exceedingly tough to watch. It wasnt missing blocks due to scheme, it was just not being able to freaking block the guy he was supposed to time and time again because he lost most battles he had.

I am fine throwing a bone to guys like Echols/Curne who are still younger guys and didnt completely suck.

In the end, outside of Moore, any of these Olinemen are very easily replaceable through the portal with how they played this year. Not saying some of them leaving cant have a good career somewhere, especially the younger guys; but quite literally 7 of our 9 Olinemen this year who played a good bit were below average (Curne/Echols) to awful players (Chester/Davis). We can do better and better will exist in the portal.

It's not coincidence our 2 best Olinemen this year didnt get picked out of high school by Brad Davis or developed any time here before this season by him.
