for the upcoming class. If he watched LB play last night he must think he has a chance to step in right away and play.

I agree once TCU backs got past the d-line there were no LB's usually in sight until a db made the tackle I hope this can be fixed rather quickly

Barrow will be our MLB. He did well in the forth, when he switched. #31 just isn't that good against the run.

The only LB that looked bad was Welter.

I'd assume this too.

Though Garrett can play out too if beckwith continues to develop like he has been... A few years under moffitt and chavis may give beckwith an edge when Clifton gets here. They will both play, regardless.

Anyone think that we are not done at LB, even if we get Clifton Garrett?

2014 LBs

Deion Jones 6-2 215 jr
Lorenzo Phillips 6-1 215 so
Duke Riley 6-1 215 so

Lamar Louis 6-0 220 jr
DJ Welter 6-0 230 sr
Ronnie Fiest 6-2 230 so

Kwon Alexander 6-1 220 jr
Donnie Alexander 6-2 215 fr*

So if we are done with recruiting LB's if we get Garrett....what are our options?

--If Beckwith gets any bigger, he could go to 3rd down rush end (he did last night).

--Michael Patterson is certainly a redshirt at DE. But at 215 lbs (lsusports.net) can he get moved behind the line if he coverage is up to par?

--Is Melvin Jones coming back to MLB next year?

--Or are we okay with 8 (or 9 w/ Beckwith or Jones staying at LB)

Kenny Young is a definite take. One of the most underrated guys talked about on this site. Watch his film and you'll see what im talking about. The guys pursuit and closing speed is downright ridiculous.

May I repost the questions below instead of starting a new thread?
