As others have said you're on the wrong board if you're looking for intelligent conversation. We don't do that here lol.

You'll get insulted plenty, but that's it

This is actually a good board compared to the rant. The fact you are supporting this idiot with this ridiculous post says a lot about your knowledge. His message is screw recruiting.....take average players and coach them up. That is fine in the sunbelt.....see Vanderbilt in the sec.

I'm sure it's closer than you might think but I can tell you right now I'm not bored enough to look it up lol.

Recruiting isn't an exact science by any stretch, that's all I was saying.

I think you missed my point. I agree with you in that I'd rather take my chances with. 5 star guys. No question

I'm not supporting anyone. I was making an effort to understand his question and respond without being a jerk. You should try it

I admit I was being generous.
But the Kansas State/A&M game proves that coaching can beat talent...sometimes

It isnt closer. Are there as many 3 stars in the NFL as 5 star? Probably more. That doesn't take away from the fact that only 3-5% of three stars make it to the NFL while around 45% of five stars do. Do the math on your team of 85. There are just a tremendous more amount of 3 star and lower that's all...but percentages hold per team on average.

If you are going to post something as stupid as he/she posted, expect the type replies that were made.

Dude. I agree with you! I said I'd rather take my chances with a bunch of 5 stars. I'm just saying it's not an exact science.

Is it really that big of a deal??

In recruiting, yes it is a huge deal. Fair enough.

Sir, I find your wisdom both intriguing and compelling.

Might you have other life advice, stock tips, moral philosophy, etc. that you can share with us?

Why recruit at all, win national titles with players that walk on and not offer scholarships.

Seems like a easy thing to do and keep your job making a few million dollars a year

I'll say it's about 75-80%. 10% to shadow staff and film evaluation. 10% coaching.

Are you implying that LSU has more 3 stars than 4? I know the 2016 class alone had only two 3 stars in its recruiting class.

Should have gone with 4.4.

The point is that there are things you can't develop.
