I agree with you on Dunn completely because of the situation with his mother.

The list of LA players not signed that could have helped LSU was a mile long pre- Saban and Miles. Dinardo stopped the bleeding with Kevin Faulk(turned this program around and still mny favorite player), but in the Saban and Miles era not many. Joe Mcknight is the biggest name lost by Miles (up until LC), Robert Lane was the number 1 player in the state Saban lost and neither are players that were needed to win. Time will Tell from this class.

think that was the point of this thread. either didn't recruit or got away.

In that case we missed on the field:

Cam Newton
Mak Ingram
Sam Bradford
Tim Tebow
Reggie Bush
Matt Lienart

And thousands of other great college players

I think the point of the thread was to point out guys like La Joe McKnight that we recruited hard but didn't sign or like Jackson that was committed to LSU, but signed with Tenn, not just great players that went else, even those with tangental ties to La like RGIII

I think this is pretty accurate. Pre-Saban a bunch. Since then not a lot. Some follow-up comments:

Eli Manning - I wasn't aware that he gave LSU serious consideration. If so, yep we could have used him in '02.

RP - although he played for two seasons his departure probably hurt us more than any other single missed recruit, . . .

Janzen - seeing him play in '10 I thought what a talent but we haven't been short on secondary talent so I don't think he's been missed.

Justin Hunter - great talent. wished he'd stayed with us. One we'll miss.

Trent - again, a great talent and better than any single RB we have but we are not short on RB talent.

Tyler Wilson - (really hate bringing up old wounds but) does anyone think he would have played in front of JJ this year? I'm not questioning TW's talent - he can play.

I don't think he seriously considered LSU, he may have had us on a list out of courtesy but iirc he was down to Texas, Tenn and OM. Cutcliffe going to OM was the clincher. When Peyton came out OM was in bad shape and looking at probation, OM people would have been really mad if neither of Archies son's went there.

we didn't miss him, we signed him, what happened after doesn't mean we missed, it means he didn't work out.
