Since you're an expert in the offense and the play style of a Freshman, please explain how TDP (who had success in limited action) isn't suited for this offense?

He’s a much better back than Alexander.

Well, except Alexander was a proven, Heisman candidate running back in college (All SEC, All American, etc.) and had a modest NFL career, whereas Zachary Evans, however acclaimed, is still a high school running back.

I was merely comparing running styles.

I know, I was just making a point on how we could hypothetically have the backs that are the types of backs that pros are using now in their shotgun heavy offenses now in our own stable.

The point I’m trying to make is that the teams that run this type of offense typically have backs that are outside backs. They like to use them in a multitude of ways. Think the Saints with Kamara, the Chiefs when they had Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook, Etienne with Clemson.

They aren’t necessarily punishing runners, more cut back type of runners that get the ball in space. TDP is not of that mold. He’s closer to Fournette in that he is a downhill, initiating contact runner.

You somehow took that as me making a slight on the guy when that could not be further from the truth. He’s just a different type of runner than the others.

Saints use both types of backs well. I like that we have both for the same reasons.

I didn’t know the Saints had another bruiser since they got rid of Ingram. Granted, I don’t keep track of the NFL much so I wouldn’t know.

Latavius Murray. They tried to replace Ingram with a worse version and they definitely miss Ingram IMO.

Having both types of backs is great for the system the Saints and LSU run.

He reminds me of Fournette

I haven’t seen a RB so hard to bring down, in his HS highlight film anyway, since LF7.

...those plays where you turn your eyes away because you’re certain those 4 guys bring him down and then you look back and he’s crossing the goal line. Evans’ Hudl film is incredible. I think it’s maybe the 2nd or 3rd play - his start/stop is unbelievable as he embarrasses some poor kid.

Well, just going by All Time recruiting grades... #467 Emery #34 Evans #15 Fournette

Wasn’t Emery #1 rated back last year?

Technically #2 behind Sanders who went to Bama and is currently RS due to injury. A lot of people felt like Emery should have been rated higher though.

Emery was the #1 running back and ranked ahead of Trey Sanders on 247. He was #2 on the composite.

From the videos that I have seen he compares to Fournette in the way he looks and runs away from people. The Kid has the potential to be elite!!
